Efficient service, good food, not too many smiles or interaction from waiters. Well run, busy restaurant. I dined alone, and there were a few other customers on their own. Go early to ensure you do not get overlooked.
We went to Solar for my birthday lunch. I had not been to Solar for some years now, but it continues to be a north star for excellent food in Lisbon. Lots of great choices in the menu, we went for the "arroz de lagosta e gambas" and the "bacalhau assado". Both excellent and in generous portions too. As a starter we had some delicious "peixinhos da horta" and we finished off with "arroz doce"...and it was also very good and in a big portion. Service is extremely professional! Staff is always there when you need them, without a feeling of "over-pressure" you sometimes have with over-eager people. Not a cheap place for sure, but you don't get that quality in a lot of places. We paid about 95€ for two people. You absolutely need to book, as the place is always packed. And that brings to my only less positive point: it can be very noisy....but then people are enjoying themselves with an amazing meal with friends. Must Go restaurant in Lisbon
O proprietário, trata se de um indivíduo muito mal formado e sem formação. Uma vergonha para sociedade este tipo de gente. Mal educado e extremamente arrogante. Que os próximos dias lhe sejam tão bons como este merece.
The owner is a very poorly trained and untrained individual. Such people are a disgrace to society.Poorly educated and extremely arrogant.May the next few days be as good for you as this one deserves.

We have been living in Lisbon 5 years and we wanted to try this restaurant. The whole process of dining there was utterly disappointing... 1 - The reservation requires a credit card number and you will be charged 30€/person in case of a no-show. How many restaurants do that in Lisbon ? 2- We started our dinner with appetisers (croquettes and gambas for a total of 23€). Less than 1 mn after having finished, our plates were removed and the main courses served. Do they know what it means to enjoy a dinner in a restaurant supposed to be fancy? 3- We had 2 polvos a lagareiro (for a total of... 68€ !!!). Nothing special; it was good but not excellent. There are places where polvo is a lot better. 4- We followed the recommendation of the waiter and ordered a bottle of Douro for 32€. Very average... 5- When we got the bill (154€ for two people !), the waiter showed us how to add a tip to our card payment. How many restaurants do that in Lisbon where tips are more than optional ? In a nutshell, this place is overrated, too expensive and do not deserve their reputation. It's kind of a tourist trap. As far as we are concerned, it was our first and last dinner there. Save your money. Go elsewhere
It is a restaurant with excellent Portuguese food, with a very pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff. I recommend it to everyone who appreciates good Portuguese food.
Very poor service, underwhelming. The food was good, but a tab6side dish was not served table side, the wine had to be served by us as rhe waiter was missing, so okay, but not worth the hype
Visited this restaurant in October for my Birthday whilst in Lisbon and had a fantastic experience. The food was very tasty and the portions very generous, beware of having a big starter if you eat the entrees on the table. (Which are chargeable). The codfish was wonderfully prepared and my wife’s kid goat was similar. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Afterwards we visited the roof top terrace which was a bonus.
Great restaurant. Wonderful food. Fun and competing service. Fabio was one of our waiters and did a great job as well as being funny & playful. Would come here every time Im in Lisbon.
We greatly enjoyed this restaurant. The service was attentive and the food a terrific example of Portuguese cuisine.

Excellent lobster rice. The best ! Coupled with Alvarunho Vinho verde. Fantastuc ! I always return to this place wherever I'm in Lisbon. Well done. Congratulations.
Highly recommended Portuguese restaurant, mix of tourist and locals. Large selection of local food and wines
Excellent food with prompt service, the waiter suggested a nice wine for my friend and I. They will scoot you out after 2 hours but you can retire to the rooftop outdoor bar.
It was 4 years ago that we had 2 unforgettable meals at this restaurant (see Jul 2019 review). So when we found ourselves back in Lisbon, it was the place we wanted our first meal. The exterior is the same but we were seated at their new extension which was really nice but more formal. Unfortunately, everything after that was 'forgettable': * the food - ok but more expensive now * the service - what service? there were a lot of waiters that seem to be just running around and not paying attention. We had to ask twice to get our bread basket refilled * the wait - took awhile to get our food but was not worth the long wait. The only saving grace - their bread is still good.
Fantastic food. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff (thank you Andre). A perfect wine. A memorable night.
