Run away !! I absolutely do not recommend this establishment. After ordering our dishes, we wait with young children... Then the waitress comes to see us very embarrassed (after an hour!!!) to inform us that they have nothing left to eat! ! Ashamed !

The restaurant may be very good, but from the moment there is a DOG CHAINED to a tree on a tiny chain and in this horrible heat, I will never contribute to the business of someone who doesn't have the slightest empathy towards animals. I refuse to support these types of people and I will make a point of telling everyone I know to never come to this establishment.

I'm reasonably familiar with restaurants in Régua, but I've only now entered Velha Tendinha. As a couple, we opted for the menu of the day (14/6/24) for lunch, and we thought it was well served. The price is very reasonable (for the dish of the day) and the service is very fast, efficient and friendly. I was aware of other more critical reviews about this house, but my experience was positive.

Experience not to be repeated! The reviews are quite misleading, as photos appear of the restaurant next door (more beautiful and attractive, which led us to think it was more touristy and more "misleading").We couldn't have had a worse experience in that establishment that we thought was more 'original', or more typical. Slow service even though we ordered daily, food with little seasoning and no salt (which depends on each person's taste), we asked for fine salt 3 times, it only arrived the 4th time. The dish that was served with fries did not arrive. It came when we were already halfway through the meal and because we asked, the result: it came cooked in oil. Salad for 4 people: 2 lettuce leaves and 2 tomato slices.In the end, when we went to ask for the bill, to our surprise, in addition to a lot of money, they were charging a letter price instead of a daily rate. We had shared 1 mixed grill (based on pork and chicken, poorly served, which if we hadn't ordered starters wouldn't have been enough for the 4 of us) they were charging 2. When asked about these problems they still treated us badly. We are 4 professionals in the restaurant industry... We weren't going to be fooled like that. This restaurant had everything to be successful in the area it is located in, but I believe that it was the employees and owners themselves who buried the house. A case worthy of Hell's Kitchen. We are sad about what happened because we are not ones to complain and in this case it really had to be. We continued our journey but were unfortunately very dissatisfied.
