Beers for 1.20 euro each. Nuff said... ?

Curtis-Baileys

Our hotel recommended this restaurant but you do need to know that they don’t accept cards from outside of Portugal. We were caught out - luckily had just enough cash to cover the bill, but only one euro left for a tip. We chose the chestnut festival menu - black pudding with stewed apple and roasted chestnuts and almonds. I’m not a fan of black pudding so only ate the smallest amount, but it was tasty and worked well together. We then had chestnut soup which was delicious. Our main meal was pork which was very nice with mashed potatoes, cabbage, onion and garlic with a side of crisps. I struggle with uncooked onion, so the mash was no good for me. A very nice red wine from the Doura valley and a chestnut, chocolate and Oreo dessert which was a little dry. Waiter was polite but we really felt we were imposing on a dinner he was having with friends.
