We ate here unexpectedly because our flight was canceled and we ended up in a nearby hotel. The place is cool, has a very modern vibe. The wine selection was good. We had the catch of the day and a steak, both were prepared well and had good flavor. Really nothing to complain about here.

My wife and I ate here during a visit to Punta Delgado. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the service was “efficient” as someone else has already said. Our experience was very disappointing, however. My tournedo, which I ordered medium and was told it would be pink, mooed when I stuck it with my fork. The mashed potatoes had an unpleasant taste. My wife ordered gnocchi, which were not like any typical gnocchi we have ever had; more like soft fried balls of mashed potato than pasta. In our opinion, the food is significantly overpriced. The worst part about the experience however, was the serving staff. There was no friendliness or warmth, no smiles, no welcome, no gratitude for our patronage. We were treated with indifference at best, and felt like an unwanted annoyance in the restaurant. That is not how I expect to be treated when I go out to eat at a restaurant and we will not be returning.

We got lost trying to find our way from our hotel to the restaurant and we’re 15 minutes late. “No problem” we were told. We mixed up our orders for drinks, “No problem” once again. The staff were all so fiendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding, I had the octopus carpaccio and the sirloin tournedos, delicious. And the desserts. I rarely have dessert but yes, I indulged here. Wonderful staff and service, bright surroundings and wonderful to watch the preparations in the kitchen, don’t ever change!

Was looking to going here after reading the reviews but the experience was disappointing. Service was fairly efficient but unfriendly. My meal was cold. Overpriced compared to other restaurants we've visited.

After a a mixed bag of restaurant experiences during our time in Ponta Delgada we booked O Baco for our last evening meal on the island, hoping that it would be a better experience to end our holiday on. We were not disappointed. Everything was absolutely fantastic; the service was excellent, the food was some of the best I have ever eaten anywhere, if not the best, the restaurant itself is really nice and even the music choices were great. It was a shame we hadn’t found O Baco sooner into our trip as we would definitely have retuned multiple times. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

I loved my dining experience at O Baco. The cuisine takes a modern twist on classic favorites with delicious results! The staff gave great recommendations and I took their advice and ordered the port negroni, tuna entree and barracuda. Amazing! The wine selection and amuse bouche offerings were also stellar. The whole place has a great vibe.

Excellent food - all fresh and divine. The service can be a tad slow but it was a full house and all staff greeted guests with a smile. The open kitchen serves as an entertainment while you wait - all chefs work as smooth as can be

A major disappointment. Was very much looking forward to dining here based on all the reviews. The service was exceptionally slow even allowing for the fact that it was a busy Saturday evening. The food was average when it came. It perfectly edible but was bland. The veal tartare was tasteless while the fish soup had some taste to it and the mains were simply ok. We didn’t wait for dessert as the service was so slow.

Came here with my wife, were seated quickly but ignored for a while after that. We waited to have a drinks order taken for about 20 minutes, then had to ask to and were told to wait for another waiter. The special negroni was a normal one (but done ok). We had to ask twice for tap water, despite my wife being pregnant and thirsty - then they charged us for it. They also brought out bread without us asking and tried to charge for that at the end. We were given a small amuse bouche of pumpkin puree which was watery and tepid. The menu was on a tablet, which we had to pass back and forwards - a bit annoying. The food took a long time to come, over an hour from ordering. The filet mignon was nice and tender, and cooked to my order, but my wife's chicken was very dry and the hasselback potato was undercooked. I ordered a beer with the mains and they brought the wrong drink. The desserts were pretty good, we enjoyed a tiramisu and a chocolate mille-feuille, which was a nice finish to a long meal, and brought it u from 2 star to 3 star.

Decided to treat ourselves on our first night in Ponta Delgada. O Baco did not disappoint. Nicely decorated with a calm atmosphere. Excellent service and a small but very nice menu. Not overly expensive which has been our experience in the Azores compared with mainland Europe. Would certainly recommend and go back.

I took my husband for a meal here to celebrate Father’s Day , even if we were not in the U.S. I wanted a restaurant where he could have good seafood while I could have a good meat entree. This restaurant surpassed our expectations. The entire meal was excellent l in quality, preparation and appearance. I started with a beetroot and goat cheese appetizer which was not only delicious, but a work of art. He had locally caught swordfish which, he tells me, was fresh, properly cooked and was delicious. I had duck Magritte which was wonderful. I had a glass of the local red wine from Pico which I enjoyed. The dessert was an Azorean version of tiramisu which I could have had another helping despite being pretty full. The wait staff were helpful and prompt, but never pushy, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy our entire meal in a relaxed manner. The restaurant is also lovely, bright and relaxed with a modern feel. We will be returning.
