Very good experience with fado. The group was excellent. The food as a whole was good despite the very salty accompaniments. On the other hand, the service really needs to be improved. It took a long time to get the information that the 2 references of Azores red wines were not available and even longer to have an alternative. For dessert, the waitress forced us to have a slice of flan even though there was another choice (seen on the other tables). We were billed for the 1L bottle of water at the price of the 1.5L bottle. Finally when we wanted to pay at the counter, we were kindly asked to wait at our table. When we received the bill, the waitress left straight away and finally cashed out almost all the other tables before coming back so we could finally pay.

It was a great experience! Both food and entertainment wise. Food; we ordered bacahau and octopus to share. They were almost perfect. The cod portion was large and thick; was well prepared making it freaky and soft while the octopus was tasty and yet not salty was tender even the tentacles weren't chewey. Both were very well done. Prior to the main dishes guests were treated with tasty bread with cheeses and fig jam. Those were good too. And to sum up, we were served with desserts and coffee. Excellent food experience. For entertainment, guests were entertained by a local couple engaging artists explaining everything from the Portugese guitar s they use to the Fado songs they sung. The entertainment was more than an hour and satisfying all your feelings and senses. All in all, it was a total entertainment experience and everyone there was almost sad to leave. Wonderful!!

A very special way to spend an evening in Ponta Delgada. The fado was beautiful. We enjoyed it a lot.It was not the best food I’ve had in the Azores, but it was good enough. We came for the fado music anyway.

Five stars, both in the service provided and in the physical space. An intimate ambiance with the poetic feeling of Fado, Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Ponta Delgada, the city of Arcanjo, became richer. Congratulations to Casa do Bacalhau with my regards for the beautiful moments you have given us!

The Fado was great but too little of it. The appetizer and dessert were good but not the entries, we had veggie lasagna and cod. Both were bland. Service was spotty, arrived quickly but then disappeared for too long. Go for the Fado not the food.

I had a wonderful experience at Casa do Bacalhau in Ponta Delgada! The food was superb and exquisitely presented. We had a tantalizing bread/cheese starter, then came the stunning codfish entree with sides, and an in house specialty for dessert. Delicious! The servers were thoughtful, kind, and attentive. They even took time to ensure I had a cab to return to my hotel at the end. The musicians were outstanding! Not only did they play/sing extremely well, but they also knew how to entertain and keep the audience engaged. It was a perfect ending to my adventures in the Azores. I highly recommend taking in a Fado show here, if you are visiting! The show is presented in both English and Portuguese. Thanks again to Carlos Almeida and his wonderful team!

Nice place with fabulous Fado music. The dinner & wine were very good. Absolute value for money... Friendly staff, excellent musicians...Btw, I saw some comments of people writing that it was too expensive... then you are better off to visit the "restaurant" with the big M...
