Not a fine dinning restaurant.
The food was decent but overpriced. We had the octopus rice. It was nice but too big and too salty.
Service was generally fine. However, the first bottle of sparkling water arrived at room temperature and we had to order ice. We ordered wine but when they brought the bottle they didn’t fill the glasses and instead put the bottle on the table and left.
There was a charge for couvert that we didn’t didn’t order.
I’d probably rate it higher if price was much lower.

A small menu but everything was exquisitely executed. Hotel guests enjoy a 10% discount.

We were unlucky with the service, the girl probably had a bad day or was unfortunately not suitable
Would I eat there again? Yes, the atmosphere and food were good, service can vary...

My husband and I got married in Sao Miguel last summer and we held our welcome dinner for our guests at O Baco and it was an incredible experience. The food was hands down the best food on the island and the presentation was something you would see in restaurants in New York City. The staff went above and beyond and we will be forever grateful for having them be a part of our special day. Our guests still talk about our dinner at O Baco to this day! We are so excited to go back to the island and have another wonderful dinner there!

Place that looked very good but has disappointed us.
Normal food with nothing to highlight. It was good but within the average that can be found on the island.
We found the service very bad. We waited a long time and they almost ignored us. We left without dessert, sick of waiting.
The restaurant looked full and the waiters were stressed but there were empty tables. However, they told us that it was full and offered us a bar at the entrance. It's all a bit strange.
For what we paid and the look, we were not happy. I hope it was a bad day and they get better.

The food wasn't bad. I enjoyed my fish & rice dish. The service was the worst we've experienced, very bad, and genuinely strange. Our waiter seemed annoyed, he was rude, and never bothered to return to our table after we placed our food order. There was a woman who brought our food and took our plates who seemed very anxious and confused about what was going on in the restaurant. I'll also add that the area of town that the hotel and restaurant are in are definitely sketchy. We passed a couple guys smoking meth in a parking lot about a block from the hotel on our way to dinner. The vibe is off. Maybe it was a one-off because there are a lot of other very positive reviews, but it was not a pleasant experience for us.

We are 4 friends. We went at the last minute for dinner without a reservation, they gave us a table and they treated us very well. Delicious food, well presented. We recommend without a doubt.

Simple but elegant restaurant with very good service. You can reserve with the fork and they are very helpful. The menu is short but everything is well served and very well cooked to order. In fact you can see the kitchen while they are cooking, at the back of the dining room. They speak English and Spanish perfectly. House bread and appetizer service. The fish well treated. What did not convince us was the capease salad since it was an ingot type with spherifications of Modena vinegar. We didn't try the desserts

Very nice, tasteful and upscale restaurant.
We ordered the cheese platter there and were thrilled.
The fillet steak, O Baco Style Tournedo, was outstanding!
Unfortunately the cod in sous vide was a bit too salty.
The desserts Cold Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Peanuts and the Strawberry and Passion Fruit Vacherin were the best dessert we ate on our Azores vacation!

I didn't understand the salad since it was a tiny dish. The rest was very delicious and the waiters were perfect.
