“A wonderful place. Located in a small bay that empties pleasantly in the evening, you can sit on the terrace right on the beach with a view of the sea. The service was always attentive and the staff were very friendly and fond of children. The kids got two helpings of the children's spaghetti bolo. The menu is clear, but there is always fresh grilled fish that you can choose from on display. Grilled calamari, sea bream, red snapper and much more are on the plate. The fish are filleted by the table service. You can easily go from beach day to dinner here in swim shorts and shorts. Very relaxed, simple, delicious - that's all I need on vacation. The prices are fair and, starting at €60/kg for fresh fish, are typically cheap in the area.
There is a kiosk window where you can stock up on small drinks, snacks and ice cream during the day.
Absolute recommendation for a simple, relaxed, friendly and very tasty dinner where the kids can play and kick on the beach in between :-)

You can park directly above. And the bay is great and invites you to explore in an adventurous way if you continue along the right - lots of small caves and rocks.“

“Cozy restaurant, with very nice decoration. We went to dinner and sat on the terrace.
The staff was very friendly, Rabbi served us and he was very polite and attentive. We are Spanish, we do not speak Portuguese and he does not speak Spanish but he does speak English and he has tried very hard to understand my Extremaduran English XD.
We have ordered garlic bread, spaghetti bolognese and lasagna and everything was excellent, although the price is a little high.
The tiramisu is delicious ?

“Our dishes (black linguini seafood and mussel risotto) was high quality and good price. Very tasty and lots of various seafood. The walk down the relatively steep and dark staircase can be a little daunting but worth it. Wednesday November 15th was the last day open for the season. Otherwise we would gladly have visited again. Opening again somtime early next year. The sunset picture is taken before we went down the staircase. It seems that google this is part of a hotel which it is not. It might have been associated with Holiday Inn nextdoors. The hotel is closed for refurbishment and will open later under new management.“

“Absolutely deserves it status at a top restaurant. Had a taster menu and it was delicious from start to finish.

I’ve chosen not to post all courses so save the surprises but my stand outs were the squid dish which is probably in my top five dishes of all time. And also the orange tree.

Service and the experience was impeccable. Deserves the star.

“Fabulous restaurant.

Small restaurant hidden in the streets of Pera, completely distant from the classic tourist restaurants of Armacao.
A good choice of dishes, absolutely of quality and with fair prices. The kindness and niceness of all the staff was fantastic, both in welcoming us and in helping us with explanations of the various dishes in both Italian and English.
The homemade desserts are also fabulous.
Spotlessly clean and welcoming.
Absolutely recommended, especially for those looking for something authentic away from the confusion.

A large salad with goat cheese toast and incredible honey mustard vinaigrette!
And for dishes, a falafel burger and sea bream, everything is fresh and seasoned perfectly!

We might as well tell you that we had a blast!!

Very tasty starters followed by superb fish mains and fresh veg. I could actually taste the sea in my bream. Could see the kitchen from our table - it all looked relaxed. “We were recommended to the O Barril from our hotel and TripAdvisor but that was fully booked due to the football games playing in the square so my partner and I discovered this hidden gem.
We tend to avoid the typical tourist restaurants catered more to the English as we are on holiday and want to try new things. This place was what we were after great food and service.
My partner had Portuguese steak and potato, which she loved so I had a tiny bit to try and it was really nice. I decided to order the same meal the night after but in O Barril..this was far from as nice.
The menu is a bit pricier that some of the other places to eat but we managed to get a table outside, and we were able to watch the sunset and thought it was really worth the price. Brilliant meal to start off our holiday.“

“We went for a long walk one day and on the way back saw the A board outside saying Vegan pizza so had to walk back in the evening to try one. It was very busy and we hadn’t booked but they managed to fit us two in thankfully. We just had a basic vegan pizza covered in delicious tomato sauce and various vegetables. One of the young ladies gave us a choice of what we wanted and then went and took the dough, kneeded it next to the large pizza oven before covering it….so it was all very fresh and cooked to perfection. It would be better to book as there is not a lot of room inside! We enjoyed our visit and would go again but it was very noisy! Thank you for letting us have a table on a busy evening.“
