The only 100% vegan restaurant in Portalegre. Offering affordable lunch menus with good food and caring service.

Boa comida! Embora falte sempre alguma coisa, ou pão ou os queijos. Mas tirando isso, a comida é bem confecciona e muito saborosa.

In a peaceful location and sometimes it’s hard to find a parking spot but it’s worth it! Hokkaido it’s one of the best places to eat in Alentejo! Friendly staff and owners are always so welcoming. My preferred food is the Lasanha but the seitan stroganoff is amazing! And the prices are fair.

This establishment is a real find: the only fully vegan restaurant in the whole district! With great service and a spacious dining room, one can see great care went into crafting a flavorful combination of macrobiotic ingredients. It’s not just Asian cuisine, there is something for everyone. And the moderate prices are most inviting.

First, let's mention that generally speaking, in Alentejo region, life is not easy for a veg*ns: specialties are almost all meat-based and veg*n options more than limited on restaurant menues. It is therefore welcome to find a veg*n restaurant in Portalegre. That being said, the food we had was very OK but not memorable. Service friendly, price OK by local standards.

My cousin had the "Folhado de Cogumelos com Teriyaki" which is kind of like a beef Wellington with mushrooms, it was amazing! I had the "Tagliatelle à Carbonara", which was also pretty good, but I felt like it didn't really taste like a Carbonara. My son had the "Tofu salteado com legumes", which I felt was a bit too salty, but otherwise okay. We tried various appetizers: the bread, the cheese plate, vegetable pate, and olive oil samplers. We all pretty much loved the cheese plate, even my cousin who isn't vegan said it tasted like she would expect, but better. My son ordered the "cheesecake", which was mediocre and I had the coffee pudding, which was pretty decent. All in all, I'd definitely go back, but mostly to try the other items on their menu.

Few customers but great quality of food and service. Affordable price.

The tastiness is more between 3 and 4 "gurmet stars". Satiety more like 2 out of 5 stars. Starter' cheese platter was very tasty! It really surprised me, 5 out of 5 Gurmet stars. Also the warm bread with it, very tasty. There could have been more. We have here the dishes Strogonoff, Ramen, chop-suey, as well as the dessert pumpkin pie and brownie. We found the dishes ok, but somehow there was always something missing. Strogonoff could have used potatoes or noodles. Chop Suey proper wholemeal rice (instead of the barely discovered rice noodles) and maybe tofu? I ate the ramen much better in Lisbon (Yasai Ramen) ~ so I was already pre- minted. In the end, we didn't really feel full ... But not bad either. I was told that everything was organic. It would be nice if that was written somewhere ~ that's also positive advertising ;) Thanks for the food ^^ Updated from previous review on 2023-02-28

(Translated by Google) Fantastic vegan food, healthy, without sugar and with lots of love! The family that runs Hokkaido believe in what they do and it shows in the interaction and food.We tried starters, juices, soup, dish of the day and all available desserts (all sugar-free!). Not only did we love the food, with multiple layers of flavor, but we especially appreciated the passion and care with which the family works to provide healthy vegan and macrobiotic options (in an environment that is normally as non-vegan as Alto Alentejo!).We'll be back soon!(Original)Fantástica comida vegan, saudável, sem acúcar e com muito amor!

(Translated by Google) Surreal experience, we went to dinner with set menu at 17.50 on halloween which included an olive paté, a micro dose of overcooked rice with mushrooms and a pumpkin stuffed with vegetables with a really sour taste that was inedible, only positive thing was the sweet. Poorly trained staff and very long waiting times.
