We were four people and we did very well.
The choice fell on the Minho and Douro white wine menu.
The four-course menu is always the chef's choice and is only known when they arrive at the table.
The initial bread, crunchy, with sourdough, presided over by well-chosen olive oil and butter with… octopus roe, all received top marks.
Excellence dominated all the dishes, the soup, the fish, the meat and the final sweets, without exception. It is not important to describe them as they will not be the same on a subsequent visit.
The finish was enriched with variations of the abbey of Priscos and petit-gateaux with carrot, again with top marks.
Very professional service.
Very pleasant atmosphere on a Sunday when only one other table was occupied.
To revisit on a special day.

It's a shame I only have 5 stars to give. Deserved 6!
Pleasant space, homely and welcoming atmosphere. Starting with the welcome plate; Cabelo-de-Velha algae add a marine touch to the dish! Moving away from the cider tea soup, the chicken dumpling had the flavor of a soup made by our grandparents. First fish with rice was perfect for the pan, highlighting the touch of ginger! The cod went so well with the mashed potatoes! The meat, with an unlikely seafood rice ended the dinner, we no longer had anything in our stomachs, but for dessert we were surprised by a scoop of Abade de Priscos ice cream and a carrot fondant, we soon had more space ? . We didn't bring the pudding shell... ? the bread, I couldn't help but mention the sourdough bread... with olive oil or octopus roe butter... Ouch...

Incredible experience with Ferrugem, which would be the equal of ** Michelin in France!
Don't hesitate, travel 50 -100 km to taste the 5 or 6 course menu!
Everything is pleasure for the senses, harmony of flavors, pairings with wonderful wines.
The service is super courteous, knowledgeable, French-speaking!
You put Ferrugem in Paris, he destroys everything!!

The restaurant is super cozy, made of stone and with a fireplace at the back of the restaurant. The treatment was super close and the food incredible! We ordered the Tasting Menu that the Chef chooses and it was totally spot on!

Staff attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the wonderfully presented and prepared dishes. Such a well-hidden treasure! The cod with purée is divine, it makes you want to eat it with a spoon for days and days. The drunken pear is superb. Chef Renato is to be congratulated for his genius in reinventing the traditional dishes of our Minho cuisine.
