The food was excellent, extremely fresh fish and the service was on point. My husband had the 14 piece sushi platter and I had the rock fish. My fish was cooked to perfection with a nice crust on the outside and moist flaky inside.
I’ve eaten in dozens of restaurants on Sao Miguel and this has been the best so far! Incredibly delicious food that is beautifully presented. Top notch service and a lovely overall vibe. If you are a true foodie you will want to dine here, even if it means travelling a distance. You will not be disappointed!
Exceptional lunch with very fresh sea food and the best octopus ever! Try the sushi or even the shrimp tempura or gyoza's and you won't be disappointed!
By far the best meal we had in Vila Franca Do Campo. The sushi was amazing, the tuna tataki delicious, steak and chips well prepared. Our server was lovely and so accommodating. The ambiance on the rooftop patio is very nice and the ice cream with house made hot chocolate sauce yummy. Will be back.
Terrible experience overall. Got an eyeroll from the head chef when we first went in and addressed them in English (quite rude, sir, considering we’re paying customers). We had a reservation for 8:30pm and didn’t get our drinks until 9:30. Tried to order sushi, only for the poor, stretched waitress to tell us the chef wasn’t willing to make it for us because it was too late (never mind that we’d been sitting idly for almost an hour). Ordered octopus and seafood pasta instead. The octopus was chewy and flavourless, and the seafood pasta was just not good. The sauce was watery and looked curdled, it had a few sad-looking mussels, extremely overcooked prawns and salmon. Since when is salmon a type of seafood? Anyway, overcooked as well. The only redeeming points were the gyozas we ordered as a starter and the dessert, but honestly they don’t make up for the quality of the mains. Paid 72 € for one of the worst meals we’ve had on this trip. Kudos to the two poor waiters who had to attend countless tables and were nothing but nice.
The sushi was some of the most disappointing we have ever had. Was that lemon curd on top of the small salmon roll? Agreement was unanimous that this was the worst meal of the trip. We had high expectations for this restaurant based on all of the positive reviews. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. I don’t know. Whatever you do, do not order the 24 piece sampler on the sushi menu. Also, we tried the limpets which are a local favorite. We found these to be quite tough, but have no other comparison as this was the only place we tried them. The IPA from northern Portugal on tap was good, and the server we had was quite friendly and attentive.
I went here with my girlfriend on our first dinner out in the Azores. It did not disappoint. The setting was lovely and cozy. The fresh food produce was obvious. The waiter was very friendly. And we discovered black pudding and pineapple go together. Who would have thought it!! Sushi was amazing, fresh, lots of flavour in the hot rolls. We will eat here one more time before we leave, and come back again whenever we return. 100%
This was a lovely lunch. Be sure to sit either outside or on the top floor to see the view. The service was fantastic- very prompt and attentive. The wine was lovely and they had a nice selection. The food was also good, especially if you like beef and seafood. Would absolutely come back here if in the area again.
We chose this restaurant based on the reviews here, however it was a huge disappointment. To start with, the toilet door is right next to where they prepare sushi. We were going to share a meal, but our waitress got our order wrong and brought us two meals. The presentation was good but it was tasteless and we barely ate anything. We had many other meals in Sao Miguel that costed a fraction of this one and tasted much better. A shame really as we were looking forward to try this restaurant.
We went two days in a row for lunch. We’re impressed with the sushi, the way it was prepared me presented. It was a shame to deconstruct it for lunch. Other patrons were taking pictures of their plates when their lunch was served. Whether fish or beef, it was exceptional…

We enjoyed two meals at Atlantico, both wonderful. Michael is an excellent waiter. Unfortunately, sushi is only available on Tuesdays.
We got into town late after driving around the island. Michael took care of us and suggested everything from wine to all the sushi we ate. Such a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. We had great wine and the sushi he recommended was delicious! He also suggested things to do on the island. I would hands down eat here if you are in the area! Thanks Michael!
We sat outside on the terrace and had lunch here. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is very stylish. The food was incredible. Beautifully cooked and well presented. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
We tried it by chance- just passing by and it was the most pleasant surprise! The cuisine is just excellent and particularly the fresh fish which are the best I have ever tried! Nice view from the balcony to ilheu de vila franca do campo, the service friendly and attentive. We went back multiple times, it's really worth it!
Very fortunate to get a walk-in table on a Sunday lunchtime at this excellent restaurant. Superb food and service. Very tasty steaks, and pasta.
