The aesthetics of the place are fantastic! The display case for the pastries and the gelato cart are beautiful.
My husband and I popped in for the "tastes of Portugal" gelato, which were novel and delicious. No one was there to greet though the gelato side was open. The staff seemed confused and surprised I was there. Get the gelato, enjoy the cute terrace and signage, and perhaps accept that the service won't be great and you'll be fine?

In two different years, counter service remained equally atrocious. I won't go back there

Very large place in the square but the chicken sandwich was very expensive even though the chicken is not visible according to the waiter, it was camouflaged in the mayonnaise. The cakes are only delicious, the one with cream, the others ranged from bad to very bad and with too much sugar. Little friendliness of the waiters. One of these places that is better not to repeat

We had a late lunch there, sandwiches are available as well as omelettes for those who are hungry.
Kid-friendliness: Sandwiches and omelettes are sufficient for children

The English house in Portimão was the city's landmark. Tea room always full of people and good pastries. Algarve specialties were tasted and eaten here...fig cakes, carob cakes, the best D. Rodrigo cakes in the entire region and the famous colorful almond cakes.
I was disappointed with the quality, especially the famous d.rodrigo flavors. Dry and far below those of the past. I ate much better in other places.
Very expensive and unavailable service.

Had the toasted sardine sandwich, real sardines (not tinned) but they hadn't made much effort to make it look appealing and the filling was sparse. The pizza my partner had was rather small and the base wasn't very good. Chips were OK.
