It took them 2 hours to serve me pasta and a salad that only came with ham and cheese. literally.

Like being at home! Chef Giulio and his staff were very kind and very welcoming, we ate a really delicious and plentiful carbonara and amatriciana, it felt like we were in Rome. Not to be missed if you pass through Portimão, highly recommended. :)

Excellent lunch, remarkable carbonara. Owner friendly and very kind. More than good quality/price ratio.

As a Roman I can say that the food is really good, Roman dishes and pizza. I went back twice because he hadn't forgotten how to make authentic dishes without following local customs and the desires of foreigners. The owner is kind and friendly staff. Go like this!!

It took 1 hour between ordering and delivery of the meal. During this hour of waiting, the staff didn't notice that the placemats and cutlery were missing, they only noticed when they came to deliver the first dish that without cutlery it wasn't much use.
It took another 15 minutes to deliver the cutlery, and they still had to put them inside the paper bags with the napkins - total lack of preparation!
When the cutlery and individual cutlery arrived, we were the ones who had to put them in our places, and even so, 2 cutlery pieces were missing.
It was the first dish to arrive and still half the table had not received their meal. Even though the situation was exposed, the Chef was unable to accept the problem and blamed the waiter.

Likes:
- the food was amazing: we ordered the Portuguese linguine, the dany and the mortadella - all were cooked to a professional standard and they were generous with the portion sizes. We couldn't finish our meals but we now have something for lunch! the dessert was also super tasty; we went for a late dinner so they only had Panna cotta left. It was creamy but not sickly sweet - we loved it!

Improvements:
- the service was a bit slow; there weren't many waiters and I think the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed and understaffed. Despite this we still got our food in good time and were not left disappointed.

The toilets are very tiny! And if you seat inside, it tends to get pretty hot.

Vegetarian options: They do have a good selection and f veggie pizzas and pasta

Parking: Paid off street parking within walking distance available during the day. Some of these parking has no charge after 6pm.

Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground floor, easy access toilet and outdoor seating too.

To note, the toilets are tiny. Not easy to move around.

Given that we never eat in Italian restaurants abroad, we let ourselves be convinced by the reviews.
In short... everything is except good Italian cuisine.
Mediocre pizza, prawn tagliatelle with cream ? and spaghetti carbonara which left a lot to be desired.
Only the bruschetta with tomatoes made with pizza dough is good.
Disorganized service.
Bait and switch.
They don't even accept credit cards.

We arrived and it was full but they set up a table for us on the terrace (not all places do this).

We tried the garlic bread and a caprese and then tried the tagliatelle carbonara and the portobello (remarkably high).

One drawback is that they don't charge by card, only cash and there were several tables that had to go to the cashier to pay the bill.

With 4 canecas and a wine we paid 75 eur (there were 4 of us).

Highly recommended option in Portimao.

Real Italian food. Nice guys serving it. Penne all'arrabbiata and their tortellini - world champions! Panna cotta - like the one made by donna Louisa in Rome. Don't miss this place!
