It was nothing else he ate that day as we had the same things except here and I'm ok.Replying to the restaurant's comments. He has not known Sardines hard to digest and he has eaten them before with no issues. Even if you look up Sardines it states it's one of the easiest fish to digest. If no one else was ill that is great but he was ill for nearly 72 hours. His symptoms were in line with food poisoning.
Vegetarian options: Along with what's on the menu they had other options.

Good but simple menu with a daily special.Enjoyed our fish dishes (sardines and bacalhau), which were served in sufficient quantity and with superior taste.And what for us is a hallmark of a good restaurant: informing the owner halfway through whether everything is to your liking and taste.Highly recommended!A MUST see.......

Normal place to eat once, but I wouldn't go back, the fish and shrimp espeto was overcooked and you could tell that the preparation was not of high quality.But if the other nearby places are closed as it happened to me, there is no other option.

Nice restaurant. We ducked in here when it began raining and decided to have lunch here. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and the food arrived promptly.We had the octopus and the fish in orange sauce, and both were delicious.

After a long walk from Ferragudo on the other side of the estuary we stopped here - tired and hungry. Being mid-January it was very quiet but the staff still showed professionalism in taking our orders. Basically 2 x sardines with a potato salad and 2 x mussels with tomato and onion. Food was excellent and position overlooking the wide Sandy beach was perfect

Very unfriendly staff, the chicken was cold, we got our starters and main course at the same time. There was a hair in the shrimps. When we complained to the staff, the only thing they said was "not my problem". The staff was very unfriendly. We do not recommend this place.
