We ordered a la carte; Tartaro de novilho, very good, it surprised me, then Carabinero as the main dish, a spectacle! My partner ordered Polvo (octopus) as a main and it was delicious. The wine we ordered was Fonte Mouro reserva 2019, very good. Congratulate the entire team.

The short: if you leave Portimão without eating at Numa you risk the restlessness of your eternal soul. Its regret of the lost opportunity may haunt you for all time. Do not risk it, make sure to take advantage and eat here at least once.
The full download: the Michelin guide has a problem. If you frequent stared restaurants as I do you know that it’s not the food that earns the first star. Without a certain level of pretentiousness a restaurant will be forevermore resigned to the simple recommendation or bib gourmand. Fortunately those of us who know have long since given up on the relentless of adding stars to our life’s list and instead make sure we truly eat at the very best places we can.
Unlike a stared restaurant you might have to enjoy the best octopus of your life a few tables over from a local couple celebrating a milestone of their lives.
While enjoying the perfectly slow cooked pork you might have some friendly banter with the staff - as opposed to the stoic white glove exchange two or three stars might require.
If you are caught in the Michelin star trap you might not be able to fully relax when eating the couvert of the chef’s signature bread.
But those of us that have escaped the emotionless wasteland of the all mighty Michelin star can go to Numa and simply enjoy a phenomenal meal in a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere at a price far below its true worth.
Very highly recommended and not to be missed. If you’re lucky you might even get to enjoy a local digestif with the chef.

Dining at this restaurant is a gastronomic experience that takes us to the typical flavors of the Algarve through several different textures in each dish. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is very professional. A very positive memory. We were also surprised by D Manuela with a heart-shaped cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The small details make all the difference!

Ran across this place in random search while vacationing in Algarve. Turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our lives! Nuno is an amazing chef and Manuela knows how to take care of all the rest. Highly recommend.
I had emailed NUMA to arrange dinner for my wife’s 60th birthday and asked if I could bring some birthday decorations for the table and Manuela told me she could arrange all this; a nice touch. The restaurant has a cool atmosphere with urbane chic. We decided on the 8 moment’s degustation menu with wine pairing as best way to experience most of what Nuno had to offer and it didn’t disappoint. Our two servers were attentive without being obtrusive and were so professional with their knowledge of the food and the wine. Then to top it off Manuela presented my wife with a lovely birthday cake. This was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back soon to eat from the A la carte menu. Thank you Team NUMA.

Food was really average, we were disappointed after making many Michelin around Europe, to not find the exceptional flavors expected. The « best of the restaurant » Alentejo pork main was lacking of sauce and pretty dry.
On top of that, the wine server missed 2 time our order of bottle, without saying excuse. We tasted many wines because not savory, after accepting one by default. We were discounted of their cave as well.

Were you made aware of the restaurant through the Michelin Star Guide and what should we say? Just wow! Would also give 10 stars!
Great reception, service staff are trained and the owners are super friendly. We had the 8 course menu and all the dishes were well coordinated and very tasty. The wine pairing was particularly perfect and you can tell that they put some thought into it. Many restaurants with a real star can't do that.
What's great is that we use local and seasonal ingredients here. The owner and also the head chef personally explained the concept of the restaurant to us and also explained that all ingredients are processed down to the last bit. That gave a nice, well-rounded feeling at the end of the evening and there was a delicious nightcap on the house.
If we're in the area again we'll definitely come back for the big menu! ?
