Very good restaurant with typical Madeiran food hidden in the center of Porto da Cruz, the fish are very fresh, the staff's attention is super good, there is a parking lot nearby where you can leave your car

Restaurant in a friendly setting in a street right next to the beach.

When you arrive you have to give your name and wait for someone to call you, you have to know this because the waiters don't tell you and you risk waiting for nothing.

We waited 15 minutes, it's okay, it's not very long, except that once at the table the waiters came after 45 minutes to take our order ? then 35 minutes to serve us.

We had mussels, lapas, garlic bread and dried ones as well as a Prego.

I do not recommend rubber molds and lapas….
The rest was very good ?

Too bad it's long...

Nice for meat dishes but not so much for seafood….

Address not to be missed in Porto Da Cruz:
We had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant which doesn't look much from the outside but which turns out to be a gem well known to the locals for its simple, homemade and fresh cuisine. Greeted by Suzanna with a great smile, in French, she brought us on a large platter 4 superb fresh whole fish from which to choose the one we were going to taste. Deliciously grilled, soft, we feasted on a superb sea bream, a hearty and tasty plate. So, either we don't have a sea view, the style is more tavern, with paneling but we delight our taste buds for a more than fair price, proof that the address is good, the queue, we don't don't reserve!! We had a great bowl, a free table straight away!! Local atmosphere, a little noisy but lively. All the staff are super efficient in serving and satisfying every guest. Congratulations to everyone, ...and kisses to Suzanna!

Kid-friendliness: Yes, it has high chairs for children and the waiters are attentive to them.

Delicious food (we had sardines, squid, octopus and garlic bread) but we had to wait a while to get food once ordered (more than an hour) but was definitely worth the wait. We spent around 50 euros for 2, small wine included.

The best food on the island at an affordable price. It was our best and cheapest dinner. Great service, amazing picadinho, caco bolo and poncho. There is a rum factory nearby which can be visited. We came back twice, but we weren't even close. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

The seafood is really excellent and very fresh, very good value for money. Only the fries were soggy and anything but crispy. If possible, you shouldn't come between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. because it's super crowded and you might have to wait longer for a table. It's also very loud in the restaurant at that time because there's a lot There is hustle and bustle.

Vegetarian options: Chips or cheese toast (not necessarily the best choice for vegetarians).

Large place that does not accept reservations, has a large indoor room with some tables on the street; Quick service and excellent fresh fish dishes.

The service is a shame, people are unfriendly and unhelpful. As for the food, it's not worth going there on purpose. The limpets were nothing special for the price (higher than average). The kebab was average. There was nothing that elevated the experience, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I had to give one star because you can't give zero to be able to review.
There were two of us and we ordered 2 main dishes, one lapas and one swordfish and some salad. Given that lapas are usually an appetizer dish that is shared (even if we had not expressed this preference) they brought us the pan of lapas and then completely forgot the rest of the order. After half an hour of nothing arriving, we asked where our swordfish (seared) and salad (which shouldn't even be cooked) had gone and we were told it would arrive immediately. We waited, hopefully, for another 15 minutes, but the result was always the same: nothing happened. So, feeling hungry, we decided to leave. The reaction was “desculpa” and that was it. They only live thanks to tourists.

During the lunch time the queuing system is awful - personel registers everyone by the bar but then all the tables are for the grabs. People passing by just sit down and nobody cares.
But once you get your seats- the service is fast and the food is good.

Average tasting and pretty pricey food. Limpets were super chewy, so much it was impossible to eat them. After confronting the staff about the problem we heard only excuses, without any explanation or compensation.
