A true gem. The food is excellent, and despite eating there many times I have yet to be disappointed. The food is traditional and home cooked in true Azorean Style. Brilliant. Very popular with the local residents, which is always a good sign. It can get very busy, but service is always fast and welcoming. You will need some fundamental Portuguese, as this is not a typical tourist destination. A typical dish of the day, including martini to start, main course, bread, carafe of wine, coffee and brandy to finish comes in at under 10 Euros. Just having food with a beer will be very reasonable.
