Dano's Sports Bar & Restaurant

Excellent food (if a touch pricey, but then portions are generous) and excellent ambience for the type of place it is.

Maybe we were unlucky but the service for food was unacceptably poor. Arrived when only a handful of people there, ordered (2 adults and 2 kids), starter came out promptly... and then almost an hour wait for our main food.
Table of 6 next to us arrived over half an hour after our starter did and they got their food less than 5 mins after we did, when the place was packed.
To make it worse we flagged a staff member after 45 mins and were told we'd be next order out. Needless to say we weren't.
Sadly it's hard to recommend after that experience.

We went for Sunday lunch at Danos earlier this year, as one of the few places we know of that offer it. We were quite excited to have some food from England, being locals it was nice to have a taste of home. The food served was flavourful and good quality but vegetarian option could do with some improvement as it wasn’t really a traditional sunday lunch main as hoped for compared to the meat versions. The sticky toffee pudding was worth the visit though! The staff did mess up part of order but were quick to fix the issue and very attentive. The vibe of the place is nice enough but definitely a sports bar, so if you’re not keen on that then Danos might not be for you, especially with various sports shows blaring across the restaurant. We liked the location and would review more highly if the ambience was different.

Very disappointing visit to Danos tonight, repeat customer and unfortunately tonight will put an end to that. Firstly we were a large group with small children, and we booked a table outside. When we arrived there was live music which is usually a pleasant surprise, however tonight it was absolutely deafening, a 6.30pm dinner where you couldn’t even have a conversation with the person next to you it was so loud.
Was initially served promptly, however waited 1.5 hrs for mains, 25 mins for second round of drinks( had to ask three times), food was mediocre, and not hot enough.
The cherry on top was after paying the bill, thanking the staff, and about to leave we just politely mentioned to the front of house female employee that the music was a little too loud for an early dinner booking with children, it might be an idea to mention this to people when booking it or even just turn it down a small bit so people can converse. We were very rudely told “this is a bar” and that “ we were given the best table in the house that other people wanted and that they could’ve given it to someone else”.
I was shocked by the rudeness of this employee and the complete lack of customer service shown.
Unfortunately this has left a bad taste in my mouth and will deter me from returning to Danos again.

I have been coming here for 10 years, love it but zafer is the worst server in the entire Portugal. Whenever you want to order something you feel like you killed someone. I have been waiting 1 h for a pizza that did not come….. very bad service and I don’t feel like coming back here

Generally very good premium sports bar. Good was excellent, especially the pig cheeks. The evening I went, it was set up for the England Euros opener so a good atmosphere and huge screen.
It's a great place to sit back, have a few drinks, eat some good grub and watch some sport

During a football match Portugal-France, we were seated by the staff at a four-people table even though we were 8. The place was packed full.

We waited over 30 mins for two beers and got verbally attacked by the waiter named Zafer when asking for news on them saying they "had too many tables to serve" (wrong point because if you open a restaurant for a certain number of tables, you should be able to offer a proper service to said number of tables).

We then ordered some food (four snacks, not even 8 full courses) and proceded to wait again for many minutes and never received it.

At a certain point, an old f**k complained to us that we were too many even though we were taking real care of taking no more space than four people and to not take up the space of the table next to us. The man took a picture of our table against our will and we asked him to delete it, which he didn't do.

Half a minute later, the rude waiter asked us to leave to which we responded that if we left, we wouldn't be paying. The waiter said "I don't need your money". We then left and were walking back to our car when we were run after by the dear Zafer asking us to pay the bill and threatening us to call security if we did not pay, even the food that we never received. We tried to reason with him about telling us that we didn't have to pay but we still ended up paying for only what we got at our table.

I insist on the fact that we were told to leave without paying by the waiter and it is only after he probably got put back in his place by his manager that he ran after us.

Overall, everytime we ordered something, he seemed annoyed to take the order and not being kind or professional.

Something that he told us was that he had "many customers pissing him off". I'm sorry, it's not our fault if you don't like your job. This really shows what the waiters think about their customers.

I recently visited Dano’s to watch the Portugal vs France Euro game and our experience was nothing short of shocking and disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for our beer, and when we inquired about it, the waiter, Zafer, responded rudely. When the beers finally arrived, Zafer spilled one on me and barely apologized for it.

To make matters worse, a couple behind us began harassing us, saying there were too many of us and taking pictures of our group, which I'm certain is illegal. Instead of addressing this inappropriate behavior, Zafer told us to leave immediately, claiming we were "bothering" everyone around us. This was baffling since we were being quiet and only reacted loudly to important moments in the game, just like everyone else.

Despite all this, we were still charged for what we had consumed, even though Zafer contradicted himself by saying he didn’t want our money before rushing outside to collect the bill as we were leaving.

I never write any reviews of the places I visit but the shocking service we had deserves one. The entire experience was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. I would not recommend Dano’s to anyone looking for a friendly and respectful environment. Save yourself the trouble and find a place that values its customers. I am honestly shocked.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. They changed the menu yesterday and it seem the food quality with it. It is just not worth the price anymore. I can make a better burger myself at home.
We also waited for an hour for deserts and finally gave up, paid and went home. Will not be going back.

Rueben was a very attentive manager and friendly. I contacted the venue in advance to see a GAA football match and Patrizia organised it, calling me back to confirm they had the match.

The pints of beer on draft are the best around and the food is very good bar food also.

It is the best bar in the area for live sports , I wish I had something like this in Ireland! Amazing setting and well air conditioned .

Best sports bar in the algarve with a hint of Irish ☘️
