Grab a drink and take a stroll around the garden as the sun sets then sit down to a multicourse meal of delicious, truly local (as local as it gets) food. The preparations are simple and humble, so if you’re expecting a Michelin style meal, you’ll possibly be let down. However, if you appreciate a home cooked meal of the highest level, this is nothing but a memorable experience.

Yes. So much yes. All the yes. This was one of the top dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was top tier. The service was flawless. The quality was top notch. It was so lovely to be able to get up with a freshly poured glass of wine and walk around the farm in between courses or have them come one after the next. The freshness of ingredients was unparalleled. The owner was an absolute gem of a human, as sweet and as gracious as can be, and working just as hard as the rest of her staff. Also meeting incognito the horse was a cute little touch on one of our walks. Please go to this restaurant if you’re ever on Sao Miguel and experience the beauty of it.

Fantastische plek - we hebben alle reviews gelezen en kunnen ons niet vinden in de negatieve.. dit is een plek waar passie voor horeca centraal staat. Geweldige bediening, leuke en fijne ontvangst (inclusief mogelijkheid tot rondlopen op de plek waar je o.a. de loslopende kippen, kassen met tomaten, kruidentuinen etc. kunt zien). Je kunt zowel buiten als binnen zitten, alles is mooi opgemaakt en aangekleed en heeft een fijne ambiance. Gerechten zijn missen niet Michelin ster vergelijkbaar (deze vergelijking lazen we in eerdere reviews), maar alles wordt zelf bedacht en heeft een lokaal tintje: ingrediënten, bereidwijzen én gepaarde wijnen. Hele leuke ervaring op de Azoren. We komen graag terug!

The price for this and the quality of service gives me serious tourist trap vibes. 80 euro for a coursed meal that lacked pacing, (often long waits in between courses, dessert was half melted by the time it reached us) relatively poor presentation, and included things I could find in a cafeteria such as white rice with almonds in it. Staffing issues are clear. While lovely people, they’re not enough of em. They’re disorganized. We had the entire wait staff, 4, deliver us meals and wine. They don’t have knowledge of the wine they’re hawking. (We also got 5 glasses out of the 8). At least that was given to us at a reduced price. For brevity’s sake, all in all, the novelty of the farm, grandmas doing some of the cooking, and cats simply don’t add up to the price and sparse service when you can find a well coursed, much better meal in a capital like Lisbon for a similar price.

Having visited Quinta dos Sabores several years ago, I have to say that it is now, very much aimed at tourists with deeper pockets, who will be visiting only once. I don't have a problem with that, but the vibe, food and service is a little tired now, and less energy and passion is being displayed (almost like a scripted experience). That coupled with a €60 per head price tag and wine that is hugely marked up. (€35 for a bottle that you can easily find in the supermarket on the island for around €10).
Overall though, it's still a nice 6 courses, and a pleasant place to eat.

A very disappointing experience. We dined here for a special occasion and this place was highly recommended with glowing reviews. I find that very perplexing since the food was mediocre at best and lacked in flavor, seasonings, thought and presentation. Definitely not worth the 60€ per person. It’s very sad that they have all these fresh ingredients and no idea how to prepare them for a high end result. All dishes were very plain and unimaginative. The service was exceptional but at the same time we felt like we were being gaslight into thinking we are tasting something better than we actually were. Also we noticed that they haven’t updated some of their courses in at least 3 years.
We were staying at the Quinta but didn’t have the chance to eat at the restaurant since we wait too much to make the reservation and it was all booked. The Quinta is gorgeous, the owners are wonderful and we had the chance to try some of the products from the farm that were a welcome gift, truly delicious. Wandering around we saw the restaurant and I really regretted not planning on dining there earlier, looks wonderful from the service to the food. It’s a real farm to table, totally recommend staying and dining at the restaurant!

The Quinta is gorgeous, the owners are wonderful and we had the chance to try some of the products from the farm that were a welcome gift, truly delicious.
