Came on the recommendation of a Portuguese friend. Wondered if we were in the correct place from the exterior but once we entered it was clear we were in a lovely setting. Pretty empty on the evening we came the staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a totally delicious meal. More pricy than most of our suppers in Lisbon but well worth the expense. We are told the restaurant recently changed owners but that the chef and staff are the same. An excellent place for a special meal out.

I’ve been coming back to A Travessa for more than 25 years and I always leave with the same feeling: “Why is that I don’t come back more often”. Everything in the food is outstanding. From the quality, taste to the presentation. The service is also top notch. Super friendly. Very special location. In the winter time one can have dinner by the fire place and in the spring and summer out in the convent’s cloister. Parking is an issue, unless you’re ok with a 10 min walk. Taxi is advised.

It is a nice Restaurant, with Beautiful atmosphere and a very creative food. Some of them are amazing, like the foie gras, and some are terrible like the beef in Duck fat.

Beautiful setting, great food and great service. We were greeted by the owner and he looked after us all night very well. The food was superb, with the steak cooked to perfection! Highly recommend and we will certainly return when back in Lisbon.

Nice and cozy dining room atmosphere. Very poor service. Waiters running around all the time and talking amongst themselves during dinner service. The meat was over cooked and the side dishes had no flavour. The desert lacked flavour as well. Unfortunately an experience not to be repeated.
