Great place, great service , delicious food. The “bolinho de bacalhau “ is perfect, and the meat is cooked to perfection.
Visited twice during our four day stay due to the high quality food (best we found in Guimarães. Service is attentive and friendly. Would recommend the stuffed mushrooms, cheese and meat platter with honey. For dinner we had two of the best steaks, although the cod fish main was incredible. Price wise we thought it was reasonable. Must visit to see for yourselves
Nice little cozy spot away from the busy streets. The waiters are very nice and friendly, and spoke english very well. The food was great and you could taste that it was prepared well and that the ingredients were of good quality.
By hazard, t o dine walking through historical Guimarães, we looked, enjoyed and choosed to dine here. Surprise ... ! We've already been there a pair of years ago, with nice memories back then. Outside, enjoying the Guimarães pulsation, we sat and dined. The same pleasant, cosy , professional and wonderful restaurant. Staff with no remarks. Plates delicious. Service overall TOP. The owner discrete but with an admirable presence. The Codfish was wonderful. The pork bochechas also. An admirable experience to choose Casa Amarela by hazard, and became delighted once again.
Such an amazing experience in Guimaraes! The food was AMAZING, the staff was more than polite and professional , overall we would say best restaurant we tried in Portugal so far! beautiful atmosphere around as well. They also produce their own beautiful wine. Made our day, bravo.
Bad experience. Bad treatment from the stuff. We have booked and they did not have the place ready. I will not recommend! There are better places around.
Went there with some friends…Didn’t like the attitude of some employees. The fish cod was good but full of bones and very expensive for a dish like that. At least serve us a cod loin…
My wife and I ate at the Casa Amarela whilst visiting Guimarães during a holiday in northern Portugal. The restaurant is located in the old quarter and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service and food were good but we could have done with a wider selection and greater quantity of vegetables.
If you like to dine in an ambience with a warm touch, yet contemporary style and want to enjoy classic Portuguese kitchen, redefined, Casa Amarele in Guimaraes is a very good choice. Friendly ownership and staff, create a pleasant atmosphere and consult you competent, while you choose food and beverages. The price / value relation is formidable.

Excellent place to go! The food is amazing! Service was very nice too! I ate “polvo a fogareiro” and my husband ate “bacalhau com nata”.
Food and wine was excellent, we recommend the prawns as a starter and the wine-tasting opportunity. Service was great, very hospitable and charming.
