Fabulous food was only topped by the experience with the staff. Definitely recommend to go there. Our table had a mix of seafood and steak meals. All were excellent. The staff were very engaging and warm to deal with.

We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, very popular with tourists, it’s advisable to book ahead. We booked on Saturday for next available slot on Wednesday avoiding a long queue for a walk in. Food was great and the service was excellent.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for being able to get into this amazing restaurant. The food was just beyond! The owner and her family completely made this a welcoming experience. They quickly became like my own family. But, that aside, the food was just incredible.

We heard of this little gem of a restaurant and had to try for ourselves. Arrived at 5:50 and were seated immediately which was lucky because 10 minutes later there was a queue of 10 people. We were greeted by a lovely young male waiter who gave his recommendations of scallops in a delicious sauce and of course the incredible Cataplana. The dishes did not disappoint and were absolutely the best food we had while in Lagos. We also tried the spaghetti with prawns which was the best pasta dish we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Lagos. Will visit again next year!

Waited 2 hours, which we didn’t mind as thought it would be worth the wait. My partner and I don’t eat meat for health and ethical reasons so we ordered the Cataplana with prawns and clams. Upon eating the Cataplana which was ok but not exceptional, I found pork in my food, I asked a male waiter who lied and said it was vegetable (clearly wanted the issue to go away) I then asked the waitress who confirmed it was pork and got the other waiter. Mistakes happen but the next part was awful. The younger waiter talking to us apologised, but the first male waiter started shouting across the room “ ITS ONLY A PIECE OF MEAT”. Upon realising our concern the chef in the kitchen also started shouting. The waiter talking to us offered a new dish but by this point we asked to leave. We then heard them all arguing over the bill, with no apology from the female older owner who placed the bill down angrily minus the cost of the dish. We waited two hours at night (all excited to try this hot spot) to be shouted at, made to feel like it was our fault and to leave hungry. Based on this approach, avoid. Customers matter more than this.

Quite possibly the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The food was incredible. Cataplana was incredible. We also had the prawn pasta which the best pasta I’ve had in my entire life. The family that runs it is so friendly and caring for their customers. You can tell they really care. They were so friendly and happy and really made the whole experience amazing.

One word: Cataplana. That’s really all that needs to be said because this is, by far, the best Cataplana restaurant in the world. Full stop. Make reservations or get there early because this place gets busy! Charming family management and an amazing patriarch chef. Can’t wait to go back.

Average not Portuguese. Just dull. Nothing traditional the piri piri is not authentic at all. The chicken on the bone was bland and a spray of aldi piri on the top. That isn't piri piri. Just nonsense

Great authentic Portuguese food and friendly service. huge portions! Great cataplana and the prawn pasta was the best I've ever tasted!

Make a res (they only accept bookings up to 7:30pm I believe) or arrive late -- we got there around 10pm and only waited about 30 minutes for a table. The cataplana for 2 was to die for. It could easily feed 3. And the waiter also recommended a local red wine that was the perfect accompaniment. Loved it!!!

Recommend by a friend and popped up on several searches. Was one of the best meals we've had while travelling. The cataplana is not to be missed. We choose prawns and clams which comes with a large portion of rice and fried plantains. The sauce lived up to the hype. We made reservations ahead of time as was suggested and glad we did as they were packed and a line of people was waiting outside in hopes of getting a table. Service was great, atmosphere quaint-family run and a gem if you are in Lagos. Daughters tried steak and pasta instead of cataplana and were happy with their meals as well. Portions are huge. Prices are right.

This place is not worth the hype. We waited much longer than told, people in front of us who left the queue and missed their spot were allowed in ahead of us. We should have left then. The grilled fish we ended up having was over cooked and dry. The wine was average. Try A Forja for better service and genuinely better food - with no hype.

We got lucky to get a table here as we were passing by early in the evening and they had a table spare as later on in the night there were lots of people queuing up outside to get a table. The service was really friendly and attentive. We had the home style Cataplana, which was really tasty and a huge portion for 2 people, so was really good value for money.
