This is the spot! WHy? For the locals: they know what they're getting, so they go. But for us tourists from the U.S., you get more then what you pay for. Our first visit we just wanted some pizza! So a quick Google search and they weren't that far from where we were staying, so we went. The service was beyond awesome. This is not your everyday pizza, although you can get it however you want, this is Madieras flare to pizza, which was delicious. The owner (I'm so sorry I forgot her name, and her husbands) made us Poncha,,,and I had already tried some on the island, but this was LEGIT Poncha. It's fresh...and I don't mean fresh out of the pitcher, I mean a FRESH HANDMADE GLASS every drink! The best part of our visit was the hospitality. We were so happy with our experience we said we'd be back. They were closed the next day, but she invited us back for her husband to make a steak dinner for us in 2 days, which would be our last day on the island, and we accepted. Two days later and we had the most enjoyable evening of our whole trip. The steak dinner and accompaniments were top notch, but the conversations and stories we were able to share about ourselves, their families, and the island really put an explanation point to our incredible family vacation. I only wish we had met them and their establishment earlier in the trip. They gave us an overwhelming amount of information on little tips and tricks and hidden gems about the area that the hours of research we'd done on YouTube never covered....guess we'll just have to go back! Thank you again and again for two enjoyable evenings of dinner! (P.S.- take a cab or Uber...I promise you, you are going to want more then 1....2....3....glasses of her Poncha! :)

Typical bar in Madeira, warm hosts speak English, food excellent, both the pizzas and the espetadas, the chicken served on request or the pasta with seafood. Of course not forgetting the great ponchas. And all of this at a sensational price. A visit is definitely worth it!

Very good pizza, if you like non-traditional pizza, it's top notch. She wasn't cheated at all, lots of cheese it was flowing... The service was friendly, we sat down and the lady apologized that she didn't even have a menu, but that she would be happy to help us decipher/translate it. We ended up using google translate and chose two large pizzas. Of course, we couldn't eat everything, so we took 5 triangles to the locker room. The only minus is the garden by the street on the hill, where when a car drives by, it sometimes stinks, but if you don't mind, there is a lot of space inside.
