We were looking for a restaurant with really great Portuguese food that locals went to. This was suggested to us by one of the hotel staff that had just eaten there. (There are 4 of these restaurants.) Absolutely fabulous food. Gigantic portions for 2 although we had two dishes that they split in half. One was cod and the other beef in a white sauce. Both delicious! We had 2 half liters of wine; one white and one red. Food and wine reasonably priced. Food 30E for the gigantic dish FOR 2!

All I can say is OMG!! The BEST authentic Portuguese food we ever experienced. The place was packed mostly with locals, which means you know that it is good. We arrived at 9:45pm on a Thursday in October and they told us they were full but they would try and accommodate us. They have 2 locations basically side by side with each other. I assume they had to open another location due to the outstanding popularity and demand. My husband and I ordered 1 dish, bottle of wine , bread, cheese and olives. The bill came to $54.00 Euro's. WARNING!! We were told the portions was good for 2 but honestly, it was more like 4 or 5 people. A BIG THANK YOU to Andre and his amazing service and recommendations. We love, love, love this place. This is a MUST try for their delicious food and impeccable service.

This place is away from the tourist places but we’ll worth the taxi ride . We were the only tourists in a packed establishment and they treated us so well. We had bacalhau and cuttlefish, fabulous and enough for 6 ! Nothing but praise for these guys

The staff guided us in selecting based on the portion size and the number in our party. The staff was most engaging and made us feel welcome and appreciated.

We wanted to eat local food: we found this restaurant and we enjoyed it! At first there appeared to be no more tables available, but the owner guided us to another restaurant further in the street: it was really really good! The food as well as the staff of the restaurant. They serve specialties as codfish with chickpies, and veal with white wine-mustard sauce: heavenly!

Great typical Portuguese food. Very very generous portions as always. When there with a couple of Swedes and they were dazzled ;) Had "Bacalhau à Zé da Mouraria" (yes, the huge portion) and the Beef with pepper. They loved it. I was glad the food and waiters were as always: 5*

This is a very typical Portuguese restaurant. Popular and delicious, great service. Every dish is so huge that you have to share it. I tried the pepper steak and the bacalhau (cod fish). Both were great. In addition to, good wines, good atmosphere and great decoration. Conveniently located in downtown Lisbon

The restaurant serves enormous portions of excellent traditional Portuguese food. We had a full portion of ribs for the two of us. The ribs were the best I have eaten in Portugal. We also had enough leftovers for our lunch the next day. We were amazed at the serving sizes of the other dishes coming out of the kitchen. Bring an appetite.

Typical Portuguese restaurant with very quick and lovely service! The food is very good! We were 5 (big) people, and had 3 main courses which were more than enough. Since the portions are large, you can ask for a doggy bag.
