“My friends and I walked in at around 15:30 struggling to find food in the quaint village of Santo Teotónio.
With desperation on our faces and growling sounds coming from our stomachs, we asked the lady behind the counter if we could eat in her restaurant.
The sweet angel replied: “nobody leaves this establishment without having eaten something. It doesn’t matter the time of day, a meal will be made for a hungry individual.”
We rejoiced, our hearts being once again full of hope.
As I took my seat, my eyes wandered to the wall where I noticed signs that said *menu of the day*.
“We’ll take four of those, please”
“Right away!” she said.
As the plates came, our jaws dropped. Never had I seen plates of this stature in the great country of Portugal. On the plates laid what resembled a tricolor mountain range, taller and vaster than the Alps: hills of pork stew, rice, and french fries - enough food to feed 100 soldiers.
You may say: quantity is one thing, but quality is another. One indicator - no words were uttered for the duration of the meal.
Needless to say, we walked in four starving boys, and walked out four distinguished and satisfied gentlemen.
Thank you very much for your hospitality and kindness. If we ever find ourselves in your beautiful town again, there will be no hesitation where our meal is taking place.“
“A divine "Tomato Soup", made with soul by Assunção, the friendly cook! I recommend!Simple, popular and welcoming place in the center of São Teotónio!Nepali Owner. It also has Nepali specialties. It would be best to call ahead to reserve!“
“We were looking for a restaurant with really great Portuguese food that locals went to. This was suggested to us by one of the hotel staff that had just eaten there. (There are 4 of these restaurants.) Absolutely fabulous food. Gigantic portions for 2 although we had two dishes that they split in half. One was cod and the other beef in a white sauce. Both delicious! We had 2 half liters of wine; one white and one red. Food and wine reasonably priced. Food 30E for the gigantic dish FOR 2!“

“The food was absolutely delicious, the best I've had in the western Algarve. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take photos, the food was so tasty that as soon as I tried it, a moment later the entire portion was gone. I recommend trying secretos porco preto (black pork) and lulas a Algarvia. The wine is also very interesting, vinho verde and the home-made white wine is very interesting. I recommend it with pure heart!“

“Randomly discovered this place when driving by and stopping to discover some ‘local restaurant’ and happy that we did! We took the grilled fish of the day which came with a lot of sides. There’s a little terrass in the back/the side. Prices were normal although that we expected it to be a bit cheaper given the location. Service was okay.“

“Really nice to have delicious local food at a super good price ? !!
We sat outside, very quiet and the staff was friendly.
Good cheese for starters, delicious homemade Sangria (oh yeaah, you must try) ... and the food was flavoursome, from the fish to the meat ?
I truly recommend trying the "Linguado" (not sure how it is called in Portuguese), mouthwatering fish.“

“Very friendly, empathetic and proactive.
Sometimes they get a little overwhelmed due to the high number of tables to be served.
Even so, they handle the service well, providing good customer support.
I recommend.
Parking: There aren't many places, besides being a little difficult to get in or out of because it's almost on top of fuel pumps.
Kid-friendliness: Adequate.
Wheelchair accessibility: Adequate, with a side ramp with a small ascent angle, a little long, but it depends on the individual.“

“We hebben hier geaperitiefd, zalig terrasje bij een avond-zonnetje en dat bij een mooi uitzicht. Zeer goede Caipirinha! De octopussalade was daarbij een lekker hapje om te delen. Het kan inderdaad wat langer duren voor je bediend wordt, maar dat stoorde ons in deze setting echt niet!“

“It's also possible without fish in Portugal! Inberico pork wonderfully cooked on the charcoal grill, served with rice, fresh vegetables, homemade fries - a treat! And definitely don't skip dessert, the mousse au chocolate is awesome!“

“On vacation in Odemira and by chance we found this restaurant.
Looking from the outside, I didn't notice anything about it, however I found the place welcoming, the staff friendly and the food always delicious.
The price was quite good, as was the quality of the food.
Without a doubt, when I return to Odemira, I will stop by there.“
“Unfortunately we were the only guests. The service was a bit shy but extremely courteous. Unobtrusive but attentive. The food was typically Portuguese, simple but good. Price-performance okay. For two people with wine and starter €60 is reasonable.“

“Delicious traditional food. My wife had the bacalhau de nata (cod in potatoes and cream) and I had the pork Alentejana (pork bites with veg and clams). Both were delicious. The pork had pickled veg and a dusting of cilantro. House red wine (1/2 litre), bread, olives, two coffees. About 22 Euro. These plates were the daily specials. Side salad came pre-oiled and vinegared, so if that's not your thing then let them know. Owners speak English. Jazz in the background. Cozy decor. Kind staff. Will definitely return when we're in the area.“
