Thank you for really delicious meal, homemade porto and super welcoming staff (Obrigado, Vasco! ?) Great food and great atmosphere, highly recommended. We will be back one day! ?
Excellent local food, great Douro wine and friendly helpful staff with excellent English. Very good value for money and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
This place is an absolute must! We were recommended by our tour guide from a Vineyard tour, she definitely didn’t steer us wrong! The food, the staff, the vibe, everything was perfect! Plus- it was super cheap compared what the price should have been! We met a couple from London in the waiting line that said they liked it so much that it was their second time eating there over the previous 3 days! We could see why after we finished our meal, so amazing!!!! Definitely a must to try!
I had the pleasure of first dining here in 2019, upon a recommendation from my cousin, who lives just outside of Porto. This past summer, when visiting again, we returned and Santo Antonio continues to deliver delicious, traditional Portuguese food, within a relaxed and friendly environment. Service is always great & managers/owners always check on the guests, further making this the place to dine in Porto. It's allways busy, so try to make a reservation, though if you can't, it's worth the wait!!
Enjoyed a truly amazing Portuguese meal. So well looked after by Mary and the rest of the team. Staff so knowledgeable and happy to give recommendations. Cod and pork were both delicious as was the chocolate mousse to finish! All washed down with a very good value bottle of white. A great find- recommended by our Airbnb host and well deserving the other great reviews and often long queues to get a table. Get there early or book!
Great food, amazing chocolate pudding. Very nice service. A non pretentious place with very tasty local food, fantastic location, got there early and had drinks then ate, and then went to watch the sunset 50 meters away. Overall a great experience and I happily would go back.
This place is fantastic! It’s truly a hidden gem of a restaurant! We are so happy that our Airbnb host recommended it to us! The food..omg so delicious! The owner and wait staff were all so kind and courteous. We had a wonderful dinner and came back again the next day for lunch! Thanks so much for an amazing experience! From your Canadian friends:)
Top meal great service Traditional dished from Porto Value for money Must go when in Porto Go early as very busy Will go again
Housed in Virtudes city loft, 2 meters away. The first place after 20 years traveling to Portugal where the manager is unpleasant and very rude. A place not to return
A beyond stellar experience at Taberna Santo Antonio. A hidden gem of traditional homemade Portuguese food. The owner Pedro is super hospitable and even gave us suggestions on the most traditional and staple items to order. Everything was so delicious! We tried the all the different crush croquettes, the vegetable soup, the francesinha and the bacalao dishes. The croquettes were all crispy and tasted freshly made. The soup was nice a creamy and on the thicker side which was a perfect start to the meal. We loved that the francesinha was altered to not include bread. The flavors were so perfectly balanced in the francesinha sauce. Pedro also recommended we try their famous chocolate mousse which was super creamy and not too sweet. What a great experience thanks to Pedro and his team! I can’t recommend this place enough! They do get pretty busy so try to book in advance.

Waiting in a queue for 40 minutes on Sunday is not worth to eat here. Portions and price seems to look good. However meat was very dry and very hard to chew.
Had a terrific lunch here after walking from Sao Joao da Madeira as part of the Portuguese Camino. Host was welcoming, spoke great English and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious and the parting brandy shot was just what I needed to get these feet to the accommodation for tonight.
Told us to wait 10min, then proceeded to pass two couples that arrived after us ( without reservation ). After 5 days in Porto, here we received the worst service. When they brought the entrants they didnt't bring cutlery and when asked responded in a bad tone 'yes yes it's coming'. Asked for one big water and brought 2 little ones. They also brought the wrong main dish ( more expensive ) and charged full price. Their dataphone was 'broken' ( showed me pressing some buttons ) and told us to go get cash. Could have warned us beforehand. The dishes were small and the francesinha sauce had poor taste. The sausage was good.
Lovely staff. Really polite attentive service but menu was SO limited! Food was OK. We weren’t unhappy but you sit on hard wooden pub type benches. Finding places to eat out is not easy in Porto and it’s not cheap!
Fantastic find. Simply cooked traditional Portuguese food. Staff very attentive and helpful. I had veal casserole and was one of the most delicious meals i've had. Simple choices on the menu, basically fish or meat. Wouldn't bother to go if you are fussy or a vegetarian. Choice of wine excellent as you would expect from a wine growing region and they are great value for money. You do need to book.
