“An absolute tourist spot. But very tasty food and it's a wonderful place to sit at the top. Basically good service. One caveat: we ordered a port wine without looking at the menu again. The port wine then appeared on the bill at €35 for 0.1 l. Luckily we had a glass for me ;-). And it wasn't even on the menu. He was already tasty. But a note about the price would have been very appropriate.“

“Although from the outside it is a place that does not attract your attention and you would not enter, inside there is great quality in relation to the food.
Without a doubt, the grelhadas limpets are a must and the fish are large portions and of great quality.
One of the best places to eat in Sao Miguel.“

“We came from Spain and it is the only restaurant we have returned to several times to eat. Delicious food and very well priced. Excellent service. Without a doubt, a highly recommended restaurant to come to at any time!
Parking: It even has private parking“

“Muy buena opción con un horario más apropiado para lo que acostumbramos los españoles de lo que hay en la zona. Son poquitas opciones pero son ricos platos de cuchara, no hamburguesas cutres. Nos ENCANTÓ el stroganoff de setas y nos llevamos un tupper con lo que nos sobró para sobrevivir el resto del día sin garitos abiertos. La camarera fue MAJÍSIMA y nos recomendó estupendamente ?? “First restaurant tested in São Miguel. Excellent surprise. Great preparation, excellent service. Everything in a simple and effective way. Fresh fish, fantastic meat, everything very good.
I write this review after going to two of the most recommended places on the island. I still prefer "O Cardoso"“

“Typical portuguese bar with no pretensions. You can go there as a tourist and you will be treated as one more from the villeage.
They have the typical options, "Sande", "Chiken wings" (amazing), Burguers, Chips ...
For sure you will not eat as in a 5 stars hotel, but they don't try, totally recommended if you end in Ribeira quente and you want something fast and tasty.“

“A perfect place to try the authentic cocido das Furnas made underground with the heat emanating from the caldeiras. The portions are large, so think about sharing among several even if it serves 2. If you want soup, it comes separately, since the stew itself does not have liquid, but rather the typical vegetables and meat that accompany it. In addition, the waiters were very nice and made our food very pleasant.“

“We have visited this place and I loved it! We ate 2 Bolos filled with cheese and cooked ham and a sweet caramel. Super fresh and tasty bowls and the sweets too. EVERYTHING HOMEMADE!! The atmosphere is very pleasant. They have few tables but when we were there we had seats without waiting. The young girl who attended us was friendly and nice. We took takeaway bowls 5un €4.5 and sweets approx. €1.5! Very good price!! and unbeatable quality! I recommend visiting it without fail!!“

“Family dinner with the aim of eating the roasted octopus that my father and uncle loved. But we were too late and there was no more. We opted for snacks and what snacks. Wonderful octopus stew but what I liked most was the fried chicharros. I've never had ones so crispy and tasty! Coming back to repeat these snacks and the roasted octopus.“

“We were in Furnas and we were looking for traditional portuguese food and here they had vegan morcela con ananas (vegan blood sausage with pineapple)! I had made my research on traditional azorean food and I thought it would be impossible to try this dish, and this restaurant was the only place in Sao Miguel and in Terceira, that had it. It was nice, the pineapple was really juicy! And then we had some burgers which were nice but not amazing haha The waiter was REALLY sweet and friendly!“

“We had a quick and delicious lunch here with soup, bifanas, and burgers made on the local bolos lêvados. They were much larger than what we had bought previously at the store. The coffee and pastries were also good. The ladies working were welcoming and helped us select items for the kids.“

“If you want to try their geothermally cooked food - you MUST book in advance. As all the reviews have mentioned - the portions are HUGE - one dish can easily serve two people, or even three - no matter how good you think you are at eating! The food is very good quality overall and the premium prices reflect the taste and portions. We visited in early August - so it was very busy at lunch time. Might be a bit quieter away from the holiday season.“

“We loved this restaurant so much we came back for dinner the next night! The views of the islet and the ocean are amazing if you sit outside. Food is delicious. The limpets are especially good. Amazing service. We had the same server both nights and she even remembered our little ones’ allergies.
They had a high chair for our baby and big umbrellas for shade.
Kid-friendliness: High chair available“
“My husband and I tried this place on our last night in Furnas and it did not disappoint! It truly feels like a fairytale walking into the garden, the whole venue is very cute and charming. We had the shrimp, fried chorizo, olives, and cheese board and all were delicious. I dont recommend dessert here, we had far better at every other restaurant we tried on the island. Otherwise 10/10 recommend trying this place!“

“Breathtaking 180° view of the port, great choice of fish of the day, but a team overwhelmed by its success: random waiting which can be interminable (1 hour), while half of the terrace was empty... incomprehensible. Conflicts between staff, very nice to customers. Many customers have given up. But excellent grilled fish, hearty and ultra fresh. Very simple accompaniments.
Wheelchair accessibility: Numerous steps at the entrance, WC not accessible. I advise against.“

“I had a lovely meal here tonight . The restaurant has a vegan menu and a dish or two off the main menu are suitable. Also a proper vegan dessert which has been illusive here up until now. I had the fennel orange and hazlenut salad to start great big plate of mixed lettuce with generous amounts of the other ingredients (might be a main size!) Bean chilli which was nice and came with organic rice and veg although it wasn't at all spicy. There was a gf yam based chocolate dessert, texture was between a mousse and a cake, a bit different and very tasty. The staff were really great helpful and friendly. The food came quickly as did the drinks and the place had a really great ambience and a nice buzz as it was almost full. Would recommend and suggest booking in advance.“

“Mandatory stop at Das Furnas to try the stew. It was delicious and a lot of quantity (I recommend ordering cooked for 1 less person so there is no leftover!). The owners are very friendly. We ate very comfortably after taking a few dips in the boilers.“

“It was never crowded here in the evenings. We had pre-ordered 1 Cozido when making the reservation, but unfortunately it was no longer available that evening. The next day it worked and was delicious. 1 serving is easily enough for 2 people. Service was ok so far.
When we were there they were redoing the terrace“

“This restaurant is located in one of the most beautiful and authentic areas in São Miguel - Nordeste. It's specifically in the village of Salga and the view is beautiful! In August we can even see the sunset. The owners are very friendly and kind and their specialty is a very tasty traditional Azorean pizza made in a wood-fired oven - just so you know, traditional Azorean pizza has a slightly thicker crust (influenced by pizza from the USA) than traditional Italian romana pizza. This is due to the fact that Azorean history is closely linked to the USA, since many Azoreans emigrated there in the 20th century and many exchanges took place. I totally recommend this place!“
