Really good traditional Portuguese food. Great and warm services. Loved the mini travesseiros de Sintra still warm and done minutes before. A true experience. Services very professional, fast and friendly. Prices are good. Will come back again
Perhaps the best restaurant in Sintra, all considered. You don't get candles on the table, or lots of linens. But there may be no cleaner, more orderly, more competent eatery in the town. Clearly regional, probably family recipes, presented simply, quickly, and with an efficiency that others could learn from. There are lots of tables and the restaurant is capable of giving excellent service to all of them -- they hustle in the front, and in the kitchen. They move a lot of food and must have a very fresh pantry. I would gladly eat here every day, and if you were to you will miss very little of what's on offer in the town -- the menu is extensive. Wine list is adequate, but no one fusses over fancy bottles to quaff with the superbly prepared regional cuisine. Did I mention prices are a bit below the mean -- so it's a bargain to boot. Share entrees, and probably appetizers, too.
Well deserved top rating. Family run restaurant with extensive menu of Portuguese dishes and hugely energetic kitchen staff obviously and visibly working hard. When we turned up on a Sunday lunchtime it was full of local families sitting on long tables. Very tasty and generous dishes for hungry tourists without being a clip joint.
Eating at this place was really good, it seemed homemade "made by mother", at the end We were even treated to a mini Sintra Cake, what a class!
Nice Portuguese restaurant near Centre and just 100 M from the station. It has good choices of both fish and meat, perhaps less for veggies. The starters and mains were generous and well .prepared
After visiting The Pena Palace, we discovered Apeadeiro. What a great place. Professional approach, wide menu with the traditional touch. We ordered grilled bacalhau, sardines, Garoupa, and polvo. Exquisite. We were served by Qazi, a smart and pleasant attitude. It is simply a fantastic place to visit whenever in Sintra.
Great seafood stew and creamy rice pudding for dessert. The people running the operation we so friendly and attentive to my family. Great experience, highly recommend.
If you go to Sintra and especially if you tourist, no need to explore further and just go to this place. This is real deal , traditional, excellent food and super friendly local staff. The cod fish is truly home made simple delicious as it should be. My 5years old son was without eating for few days and this place saved us as I ordered simple stake with fries, fried egg and some salad as some people in Portugal and Brazil like to eat, and bingo my son ate and we were all happy. Good ingredients made with care and home made style is incomparable:). Thank you!
This restaurant was recommended to us by our tuk-tuk driver, near the train station in Sintra. It was the most amazing meal we have had since we have been in Portugal would recommend it to anyone! Some of us had the monkfish and shrimp stew with clams, it was very, very tasty! We also had the garlic shrimp and a plate of the shrimp curry. The garlic shrimp was excellent and not too garlicky sauce was amazing. The shrimp curry was good but we favored the garlic shrimp… we had several appetizers that were very good. The best one was by far the cod Fish cakes and they were the best ones we’ve had in Portugal. My sangria was so good. I wanted to bottle it and bring it with me! They had the perfect size red wine bottle for our two other companions to share. We did not have any dessert, but they look delicious, the service was by far outstanding. This is a hidden gem on the side street next to the train station. That is worth a visit.
This restaurant was v busy, serving wide range of traditional dishes that you would see in any large Portuguese canteen style dining room. The food resembled "school dinner" production, large team of ladies, churning out volumes, no one was tasting, no love was given...my prawn curry was a chicken gravy, coloured yellow, no curry flavour at all, not good. On the plus the house white was good, crisp, oaked. With the bill we were given complimentary glass of port and pastry. Mediocre at best what a shame.

The restaurant is average. The food is acceptable, prices are on par with what you’d expect to pay. The service however is ridiculous. Extremely condescending, pretentious, and unpleasant. The servers act as though you owe them for allowing you to dine there. Definitely a tourist trap without the charisma or general knowledge to match. I would avoid this place at all costs, please do yourself a favour and find a different place for your meal.
An exceptional spot. Great food. Generous servings sizes and exceptional service. Authentic and delicious Portuguese food. This place was filled with locals. We would definitely eat here again.
Portuguese food that is delicious. Attentive wait staff. Port and sweet pastry for dessert. We had the cod and a Portuguese steak (mushroom sauce). Both were excellent.
Tourist friendly restaurants with fully translated menu. Ordered fried prawn, grilled pork tender and some snacks. All food we're good and with great portions.
Rick Steves likes it, our Hotel guy likes it and we loved it. Had a bottle of house wine, fish and appetizer. Fantastic service and I feel badly I can't remember the young guys mane. Most looked like locals than tourist. I highly recommend this restaurant.
