We ended up in this small land by chance, hearing about its magnificent sunset, we ended up sitting by the river with generous, well-seasoned, dry and well-fried servings of eel. The starters are sensational, both the mushrooms and the afternoon are a must and set the perfect tone for the meal. The dishes follow the fashion: they are served generously and prepared with the utmost care and respect. Desserts are served as a buffet, with a variety and quality worthy of five stars. The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect in such a riverside place, with a fishing aspect as expected. Humble and fun service, always with a good face and enjoyment of work - something that I value more and more. In terms of price, it is not a cheap meal, but I think the price is preciously in line with the quality of the meals. I highly recommend the fried eels - a local delicacy - accompanied by rice. A house wine is good enough to accompany any family meal.

Place with a very pleasant view. The restaurant is welcoming and the service is efficient. The starters, mushrooms au gratin and a mini pediz afternoon were delicious. It's a shame I can't say the same about the eel stew which for the price of €22.5 was served with a split eel and 6 pieces and 2 potatoes split into 4 or 5 pieces. The flavor was also far behind others I've enjoyed.

In 2018, to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, I was looking for a different location for a march (I live in the suburbs of Cascais and my country is in Sintra) and off we went. Upon arrival they informed that they were already full with reservations (this is my habit of going on an adventure), looking at the trio they added "this is expensive!". There I went to the nearest village and we found somewhere to have lunch. Currently my mother is hospitalized and the bad father is in a home. He walks with the help of a cane, whereas a month ago he could not get out of bed alone. I went to pick him up from his home and take him to lunch in Setubal (adventure again). During the meal, he enthusiastically confided to the waiter that it was his 86th birthday. The restaurant at the end offered his dish. I won't be able to help about Escaroupim about the food, space and prices, but I recommend booking in advance and being careful with your outfit, parking is easy, pack your car and go.
