Adega Moniz in Madeira offers insanely good food like shrimps, caco bolo, and sliced beef with garlic and bay leaf, along with free wine. The laminated beef is highly recommended, with affordable prices and fantastic service. Enjoy the view of the airport from the terrace. Don't miss the typical Madeiran sausage Alheira. The place is very local, with few tourists, and serves some of the best meat and steaks in bolo do caco. Despite poor acoustics, the friendliness of the staff, the food, and the wine make up for it. Try the regional chopped or the suckling pig patty, though the potatoes may lack flavor. The Medusa Red wine from 2022 is excellent. Portions are large and reasonably priced, with very good wines and free appetizer platters. The restaurant is small, so larger groups may wait, but it's worth it. Vegetarian options are available.
