Sweet Satisfaction

We ordered a WEDDING cake from here as there are family collections. The cake was not made as requested. The cake was tilted/lop sided. The cream was supposed to be butter cream but WHIPPED cream was used which in the summer weather is NOT ok. The restaurant had a strong smell of gone off cheese. The flavour was supposed to be kinder bueno and has the smallest slither of the icing that you couldn’t taste it. 23 people attended the celebration and only 4 people ate the cake. We took it back to the bakery and Ruben Pereira who made the cake phoned and I explained the situation and he spoke rudely to me as a client who paid 60 Euros for a cake which was meant to be something special to add to the wedding and it was disgusting. He refused to refund even 50% or offer something due to the disappointment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ORDER NOT AS REQUESTED. WILL NEVER RETURN, WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.

Henrique has an amazing talent of providing classical Portuguese dishes with a modern twist. I have had the privilege of eating here several times and we’ve adored every meal!!! The chef Henrique is kind and generous along with all the staff. Don’t hesitate, as this place will not disappoint. I wish I could give this place 10 stars !!!!! The food is sooooo good !!! We are from Canada and can’t wait to come back and eat here again ! Thank you to everyone at Doce for giving us such a unique and welcoming experience in Santa Cruz.

This place is a diamond in the rough. Great vegetarian options, creative cuisine, lovely atmosphere and passionate service. They really put love into the whole experience!!

Everything is so light and the customer service here is top-tier.I would recommend having the Juice of the day, this is always different but Freshly made every single morning. The Prego Special is definitely a Must try!!If you want to be blown away. Give the Mini Burgers a try. They are worth the price!Staff is amazing and the atmosphere is very Homey.A+++ would highly recommend to anyone visiting Santa Cruz. It's walking distance from major hotels and the beach.

Lovely Restaurant hidden in a shopping center. The Manager and the Chef are more than passionate and harmonized: warm welcome and cozy atmosphere, regional culinary delicacies from the chef himself, delicious fish, great mousse au chocolate, fresh made mango-orange-juice and well priced. Would return anytime!

We had a delicious dinner there last night! The pesto was one of the best I've ever had! The chicken was super juicy and everything was finished with crispy pieces of bacon. The beef with fries was also delicious. The portions are very generous and afterwards we got cakes from the house that we could take away. Service and cook were very friendly! This is a warm place that puts love into its food! Definitely recommended if you're in the area and like good food!

Excellent meal with local ingredients. Lovely and attentive service. Very nice design. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Madeira for 10 days and this restaurant was by far the best we went to. The food was delicious, the people warm and kind, and the decor very cute. They made us feel at home - make sure to check it out if you’re in the area.

This place is a true hidden gem. It is a bit hard to find as the location is in a shopping centre but don't let this put you off. We stayed in Madeira for 12 days and this was honestly our best dinner experience of the whole trip!The food was excellent but the staff and the whole vibe of the place really made it perfect. Highly recommended!
