It is true, as mentioned in many reviews, that the wait is long. Still, and at least for us, they were kind enough to warn us before entering. Since we weren't in a hurry or in the mood to eat quickly, we didn't mind and sat down anyway. What we do not understand is the disorder and chaos that exists when taking orders and serving: dishes that pass through one or more tables before reaching yours, and vice versa; having to ask for an extra dish several times; a dessert that takes more than 20 minutes to bring; or having to insist up to five times that they bring a glass of wine that didn't arrive until after I had finished my plate. For food, I recommend ordering the fried swordfish with banana or the meat espetada, both very good options. In terms of price, it was a little more expensive than we expected taking into account the quality (and quantity) price ratio.

The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a grilled chicken breast and it came with a strange sauce that had a very strong flavor of knor broth that ended up ruining the steak.

We went to this restaurant because it closes late, thinking it was an option and it ended up being the best success in Porto Moniz. Valentina is super nice and very nice and the octopus dish she recommended to us was excellent. 2 starters, two starters, drink and tea about 50 euros. Highly recommended, we had a super good dinner.

It is true to say that there was a group meal. And all the waiters present were serving that group meal. After waiting more than 25 minutes, they served diners who arrived later and brought them drinks, and they hadn't even taken our orders for the drinks. When discussing the situation with a waitress, we left the premises, because they basically told us what it is. ?

This place was recommended on some websites, so we gave it a shot.
The food was nice. We had some bread and prawns as a starter. The fish with passion fruit sauce and fried beef cubes as a main. The baileys chocolate cake and the banana tarte as dessert. All the food tasted good. Especially the fish dishes. The beef cubes where not to great, it was a little bit sour but not in a good way. We definitely recommend the fish with passion fruit.
The wine list is great and the local madeira white wine is the one we recommend.
All the food and wine is added in the pictures!
Service is friendly and fast. Little bit to fast, which makes me doubt if all is fresh, but nevertheless, fast. Which is a good thing. We got helped by 4 different people, which was kinda weird. The little talkes we had with one of them to get a bit of understanding between one another was useless because of it.
As far as atmosphere goes, I didn't like it. It didn't help we were the only people there. If it is crowded, I think it would have been 10 times better.
Parking: Just 2 streets away is a free parking.

Tourist trap. The prices of the dishes are average for the island but not the drinks. I had vegetable pasta, I'm still looking for the sauce and the taste. Hardly better for the taste buds of my guests. Very expeditious staff who force you to pay in cash.
But hey, karma took care of their case. A huge building looms between them and the sea. Cheh view. Ahahahahahahahahahah

Went on a fabulous 4 x4 jeep trip around north west of the island. Ricardo was knowlegeable and made us feel at ease. He is great. Trip scenic! Would recommend the trip - except lunch at Polo Norte was authentic Madeira. Felt like a tourist trap! We advise check google maps for better rated restaurants. The guide recommends where he eats. Not sure if he gets discounts but thats ok. Waiters made no eye contact or a smile or welcome. Restaurant was empty when we arrived and we were ignored for some time. Poor service, average food. Check out google - wish we did Lapa Bay! Jeep/bus loads cane in later and all treated similarity deom the look of it. Wont come back or recommend. We havehad waaaay better and had fantastiv servce and food in Funchal at same prices. Oh well! That’s traveling. Now you can make a better choice than us/me.

Positive: the ambient music on the terrace above is pleasant.
Negative: too few employees for the movement they have does not allow them to give due attention to customers. Bolo do caco was raw inside. We ordered sword fillet which came soaked in oil and when I asked them to change it they still replied that it was normal for it to be like that because it was fried; steak difficult to cut/eat and the side dishes were almost cold. The lady who was at the payment counter does not have the profile to serve the public. He's rude in the way he speaks and doesn't even look at the customer's face.
