Wij waren nadat de wegen waren afgesloten door de rally (+ongeluk) en de taxis ons niet meer naar de Pico parkeerplaats konden brengen gestrand in Santana. Bij ons vorige bezoek an Santana was dit restaurant ons al opgevallen en de reviews waren goed, daarnaast hadden we na onze wandeling zin in pizza. We waren heel blij met onze keuze, de pizza was verrukkelijk en de serveerster dacht geweldig mee met de noten allergrie, ze heeft zelfs de keuken laten weten de pizza niet te snijden omdat deze met andere pizza's in aanraking kan komen met pesto (bevat noten). Deze heldin verdiend een extra compliment, het was haar al eens overkomen dat dit verkeerd was gegaan en door die ervaring denkt ze goed mee en neemt ze het serieus. Het eten was goed, Banana Weiss bier was lekker en de espresso was ook heel goed (uniek op Madeira).

Dit restaurant bevindt zich in het centrum van het plaatsje Santana (vlakbij de traditionele huisjes). Wij hebben hier genoten van een heerlijke lunch (Prego beef sandwich & Fiambre). Voor de prijs meer dan prima (we kregen het niet op/was teveel).

We ordered spaghetti with vegetables. We received a whole plate of pasta with a small amount of vegetables. Additionally, a fruit salad. Considering the variety of fruits on the island, we were significantly disappointed by a salad made up of about four types of non-exotic fruit (it wasn't even fresh, but canned fruit). Moreover, the ice cream served was somewhat melted. The service was friendly, but completely uninterested when it came to payment. There was quite a long wait for the bill; one could just as well leave without paying for the service.

Very pleasant hotel with parking and close to the city center Staff available. Equipment available to clean your hiking shoes ? Good breakfast. A slightly dated but free swimming pool and unfortunately a broken jacuzzi which did not heat. The restaurant was nice, they served us even a little late in the evening. Very good grilled octopus

I went on a visit to Santana, during my stay in Funchal, I ate at this restaurant with 8 other people, it would be €17 a day, we ate meat, and other people, fish fillets! With drink and dessert included! In the end, those who ate meat like me paid 17, and I paid 19!!! The only difference was that I drank water and they drank wine! I asked why, and the answer was... the daily rate is between €16 and €20! ??? it was for my face, that's it!
