“We came after reading the reviews and we don't regret it at all!

If you are lucky enough to be close to the windows the view is breathtaking.
The dishes are delicious and the service is impeccable!

I recommend the two dishes in photos! Bacalao (fish dish) and pork in pineapple! The pineapple was really EXCELLENT!“

“Amazing restaurant! Delicious food, very fresh sea food and the tastiest that we had in our two weeks vacation on the 4 Azores islands...
The service is super professional and knows what to offer.
You should book a place in advance?
- Trigger fish is the best!
- Octopus stew is special and delicious
* Prices are the surprise of this place super cheap in comparison to other options all around (cup of Pico wine for 2/4€)

Thank you Ritinha!“

“We've been around 10 times at this restaurante because it is for us one of the best regarding portuguese cuisine. The menu has portuguese dishes, but made modern. You can be sure to find fresh and hand picked ingredients in well prepared dishes. I recommend Peixinhos da Horta as a good starter and the Octopus main dish (but any other is nice as well). The service have always been great and we were never disappointed.“

“A very nice restaurant based on grilled dishes. The food was very tasty, served with great potato fries. Portions are also large. Food is controlled very quickly. Depending on the date, it may be very busy and a table reservation is necessary. Before your order is served, appetizers are served, but they are not free - they are menu items. If we do not use them, they will be taken away and will not be added to the bill.“

“Local restaurant, little bit chaotic outside, didn't know where to sit first, inside was like in sauna ?took a menu when one table outside was just free so we sit there. And again didn't know if I have to make an order inside or someone will come to us , but after few minutes waitress showed up , we order a beers and wanna have something from menu - tuna steak and fish of the day .. both were out.. so we took what was left over. I got a cod with grilled potatoes, and my husband grilled squid . Everything came in 15-20min, we were not disappointed, food was fresh and tasty. I know it is the way of living here , we are just tourists who are making reviews“

“We visited on the recommendation of Mr.José, our guide, and he did not disappoint. We were the only customers, but the food was good and the service was as expected. The cheese as a starter to accompany the island wine was a great choice. We ate the steaks, which were super tender, the cod, and the grilled squid, once again everything was tasty and nothing disappointed!Another visit to Pico Island, we will certainly return to Lavrador!“

“Surprisingly nice restaurant with terrace in the garden behind the building. Recommended! You can have lunch from the buffet with the locals or choose something (delicious burgers) from the menu. Cheap. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Kid-friendliness: Great terrace in the shade for eating with children.“

“Unfortunately there was no cold wine, it was brought from the other restaurant and was warm, there were no ice cubes. The fish was unseasoned, large portion, there was talk of salad, there were vegetables, far too expensive, real tourist trap“

“We first didn‘t go to this place because of the bad reviews. As we went anyway, we totally don‘t understand the bad comments anymore. The Pizza was super nice (the small pizza is already enough for one person and costs 10 Euros), you can even add cheese in the pizza edges which is super fulling ;) the cheese garlic bread is also amazing! The service was very friendly and everything was served fast like nowhere before on our stay on the Azores ?

Vegetarian options: They have

vegetarian options: risotto and pasta I think. We took the vegeratian pizza which had many many vegetables on it =)“

Fresh Fish Dorade

“(Translated by Google) The food is pretty standard, with some bites and fish, probably with Brazilian touches - whether intentional or not (mustard leaf in soup, quindim...).I can't say it was amazing, but it got away with it.Main negative point is the price, but this point is shared with anywhere in Velas, almost.Twenty sticks a plate in S. Jorge is an invitation to share meals (perhaps intentional?).In any case, the service was unsurpassedly friendly, including a mini cheese plate on the house.(Original)A comida é bastante standard com uns bitoques e uns peixes, provavelmente com os toquezitos de brasileiro - quer intencional quer não (folha de mostarda na sopa, quindim....).Não posso dizer que estivesse incrível, mas safava.Ponto negativo principal é o preço, mas este ponto é partilhado com qualquer lado em Velas, quase.Vinte paus o prato em S. Jorge é um convite a partilhar refeições (talvez intencional?).De qualquer forma, o serviço foi de uma simpatia inexcedível, com direito a um mini pratinho de queijos por conta da casa.“
