There are a number of dishes on their menu which are naturally suitable for vegans (although listed under ‘vegetarian options’, and they will happily adapt their dishes marked as ‘vegetarian’ to veganise them. The staff are knowledgeable about veganism and know their menu extremely well and were happy to advise me and make suggestions. I chose the vegetable biriyani, which was primarily a rice dish which had been created with a mixture of vegetables (not fried in ghee/butter) and cooked with spices. They asked me about my preferred heat/spice level and created a fantastic tasting meal which was perfect for me and a large portion size! The staff member even created a special ‘peshwari’ roti for me, using ground coconut, almonds and raisins (not using ghee/butter or honey). It tasted so sweet and fragrant, and because it was cooked fresh to order, it was delightful. They paid a lot of attention to detail with my order and explained everything fully to me about the cooking process so I knew that they understood my requirements, which allowed me to fully enjoy my meal. It was also extremely reasonably priced! It isn’t always easy in that side of the Algarve to find a restaurant that understands vegan requirements and goes out of their way to help. I wish I had taken a picture of the meal, but I only realised after I had eaten it all!
Nice location, kind staff, but the food didn't seem to be fresh, except for the naan bread. I would not go for a second time.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu.

I recently “mixed up” the two Indian restaurants in Sao Bras. Please may I ask forgiveness for the owners of “Taste of Punjab”.My (incorrect ) review was is deleted.I live nearby and have eaten in both restaurants. The dining experience in taste of Punjab was exactly as I expected.I was (lucky/unlucky) enough to grow up in Birmingham where we eat Indian food once or twice a week. The meals here are authentic, tasty and good value.I strongly recommend you try for yourself.

Very tasty food, very friendly service, the rooms are a bit old and could use some improvement. But the taste of the food made up for it.

We have been to the Punjab many times over the years and have always given them full marks. But this time it was a little disappointing. It was fairly quiet but the service was matter of fact, the food was reasonable but there was no atmosphere in the place. It was all very bland compared to our previous visits.

Absolutely superb Indian food, very reasonably priced and served with a smile - absolutely the best service of any restaurant we visited in the area. My wife said it was the best curry she had ever eaten, so good we visited twice during our week long stay. We'll be back!

Ordered take away. The meals were all far too hot, spice and salt were the only flavours. Korma was asked to be not hot, it came too hot to finish. The onion baji tasted like a dried flip flop. The chicken pakoras were re-cooked and horrible. Lamb was nice and tasty, the only meal to get top marks. Chicken in the rest of meals were dry and chewy.
The food- the best ❤️The service- the best, so kind attitude!
