we have been in Lisbon for a week , and we were quite disappointed with the food and the service in the restaurants , but we decided once again to try and we were impressed with the food and the service , all the dishes we tried were excellent ( Bacallao Nata , Bacallo con Coco , Bife em salsa Pimentes ) , the service amazing and the super reasonable prices. Without a doubt the best we have tasted on this trip!

This hidden gem behind the train station in Sintra was an amazing experience. The food was very tasty, the staff polite and friendly and we enjoyed our dinner a lot. Definitely recommend this place.

Coming from the United States, we are used to paying a lot of money for not a lot of food. At Metamorphosis, everything is affordable, including the wine. Very high quality food and flavor, plus generous portions. Good service too. I have been for lunch and dinner—it’s a great spot for either. Can be fancy or casual.

We recently spent a few days in Sintra and had one of our dinners at Restaurante Metamorphosis on R. João de Deus just to the east side of the rail station. They have a fairly large indoor seating area and are open from 12pm to 10.30pm daily. This is a traditional Portuguese restaurant with casual environs, good service and pretty good food. Everything served during our meal was fairly good and reasonably priced. Padron peppers were nicely grilled and tasted nice. Main order of Grilled Sea Bream with veg tasted just fine while the baked salmon fillets with an orange cream sauce were interesting, would have preferred simple grilled salmon but this wasn't bad. Finished our meal with a nice slice of chocolate cake. On the whole, not our favourite traditional Portuguese dinner during the trip but pretty good food overall at Restaurante Metamorphosis. Would consider eating here again during future visits to Sintra.

We had a wonderful lunch here. The steak with mushrooms and rosemary was as tasty and tender as could be. Service was friendly and excellent. Four minute walk from train station on level ground, away from crowds. Totally enjoyable.

Hubby requested we go back to this restaurant. He must really like it! We had it yesterday lunch and for today again. Yesterday he had clams and I had Grilled Pork. Our dessert was Nutella Cake with Ferraro Rocher on top. Today, he had Steak with rosemary and mushrooms and I had Bacalhau with Onions and Tomatoes. For dessert we had chocolate cake.

We visited here in February after reading the reviews. It was pleasant enough but the food wasn’t really anything to rave about. A bit of a disappointment really. However, the staff were really friendly.

Most reviews seemed pretty good. The staff were friendly, but the food was terrible. It arrived cold - which was surprising because we didn't wait long and the restaurant was not crowded. I had a blackened pork with sweet potato, which was okay, but cold. My wife tried the vegetable bread tower - it was inedible and cold.
