“Years ago when this ice cream shop opened it became our favorite in Ericeira. We just came back and the past week(August 2024)we tried ice creams from the 3 best rated ice cream shops in Ericeira(we love ice cream and are really picky with it, we are from Italy and I'm a chef). This was our favourite. The only tip would be to lower freezer's temperature as ice cream tends to melt quite fast(maybe also prices, but they raised in every ice cream shop). “I cannot write enough good things about this restaurant. The employees at Bengal graciously sat us 35 minutes before they closed. We all ordered three of the specials, the Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Curry, and Dal Makhani. Portions were fantastic: came with a substantial portion of rice and naan. It was easily some of the best Indian food all three of us have ever had. (My FIL is from England)
I got the Tandoori chicken and it was so moist and tender. My partner had the Dal and it was so flavorful and the texture was just perfect. The naan was fluffy and soft with a perfect char on the outside.
We couldn’t get enough of our meals. We ordered another curry to go for my partner’s brother.
We will absolutely be returning when we come back to Sintra. I’ll be thinking about this meal for years to come.

“We’ve lived in ericeira 7 years, secret oven is the best pizza in town no doubt in my mind. It is one of the only pizzas I’ve ever had that doesn’t make me feel like I’ve eaten junk food. I’m also gluten sensitive and the sourdough is such high quality it never makes me flair. The wonderful owners and secret oven crew are incredible and have become great friends! So many memories have been made over secret oven pizza on our weekly pizza movie nights, and many more to come! Not to mention how much they invest in local events, artists and more! Amamos vocês!
