“Just a coffee and delicious cake. And after we asked about it, a fresh orange was picked for us from the tree opposite. Owner speaks excellent English and knows the area, and is a rich source of information. Worth a visit for those who want to discover the north coast.”

“"Taberna do petisco" is a culinary gem that merits the attention of every discerning gourmet. From the very first bite, it is evident that the dishes are crafted with meticulous care and passion. The house specialties are nothing short of extraordinary—each offering is a harmonious blend of flavors, transforming every meal into a memorable experience.
The service at "Taberna do petisco" is exemplary. The staff is not only courteous but also remarkably attentive, remembering their patrons and adding a personal touch that enhances the dining experience. Notably, despite the absence of a tip on the first day, we were met with the same warmth and attentiveness on our return, a testament to their unwavering commitment to hospitality.
While the staff's proficiency in English may be limited, communication and ordering pose no difficulty. It is clear that at "Taberna do petisco," the universal language of exquisite cuisine is spoken fluently, with taste as the primary medium of expression.
A particularly commendable aspect of this establishment is the exceptional price-to-quality ratio. The prices are moderate, yet the quality of the food far surpasses what one might expect, offering superb value for money. The dishes are sure to impress even the most exacting of palates.
In conclusion, "Taberna do petisco" is a place I unreservedly recommend. Its unforgettable flavors, impeccable service, and inviting atmosphere make it a destination to which I will undoubtedly return.”

“Amazing value for money.
We got bread and rolls for our hikes from there every morning. We also took the chicken pizza and some other savoury treats with us and everything was tasty.
We treated ourselves to a breakfast of cake one morning as there are soooo many to choose from. The slices are enormous.
Would recommend to have breakfast there every day to try everything. I tried a lot in a week but still feel I am missing out on some things :)”

“A must stop. They don't speak English, if you ask for an English menu they shake their heads. In a few words, they will tell you what, of course, has nothing to do with what you think. Here you really arrive in Madeira. You can eat well for cheap. It is not a place reserved for tourists. But Google is your friend, you can figure out what's going on and they don't care about you. ? Then you'll get something to eat. But you get the feeling of going to a local on Sunday. Don't ask for a cheese sandwich, because cold Gepsonka cold cheese is cold Madeira bread. But they bring it out in 1 minute.”

“Our lunch at the Lavrador São Vicente restaurant was a real highlight of our stay in São Vicente. We tried the grilled mussels and the fish of the day (sea bass) and were amazed by the quality and taste of the food. The mussels were grilled to perfection and the sea bass was fresh and superbly prepared.
The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Despite the high quality of the dishes, the prices are more than fair, making this restaurant a must for anyone in São Vicente. The service is also particularly noteworthy: the service was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome.
Overall, we can only warmly recommend the Lavrador São Vicente restaurant. If you are in São Vicente, you definitely shouldn't miss this culinary experience!”

“This is one of the authentic bars in Madeira. Starting from the front door itself, above which something about tradition is written, to the door handle itself, which is original and over 100 years old. The floor is made of cobblestone, old stone, like Skadarlija in Belgrade or in general the old pedestrian zone in cities. Inside there is an old anchor, lanterns, machines used to make wine, as well as various other decorative items. The choice of drinks is a separate story and I hope I won't scare you if I tell you that there are old bottles of wine that cost 2000 euros. Good old rum is served here as well as standard drinks. The view is beautiful because the sea is right across the street. Truly a place you should visit if you're passing by.”

“The ambiance here is awesome, endearing and super quiet. We a little retreat ?The food is fresh, probably from the area and allergies and intolerances are taken into account. When I was told that I was allergic to egg whites, the waitress offered to make me a roll with a spread of my choice. Sounds like an ad but I've never eaten such a delicious ham roll ?The staff speaks English with ease and I'm polite, courteous and leave enough time for small talk when no other customers are waiting.
Vegetarian options: e.g. rolls that can be topped with cheese
Parking: You can park all along the street
Wheelchair accessibility: Located on ground floor level

“After doing the Levada do Rei, it's a good idea to drink a refreshing coca-cola at this bar.
As soon as I arrived at the place, I realized that it was a different bar than the others. Just for the architecture, it gets some good points. Then, the interior is simple and humble, even perfect considering where it is.
Then, the only part that I didn't like so much, the attention from the employee. He was a little "rough", that is, he didn't show much sympathy or attention. I still had to ask for ice and lemon to be added. It seemed to me that he did it willingly, but I was still receptive. Despite everything, I never felt extra or unwelcome, to be clear.
After paying, I sat at a table outside and let the peace of the place take over me.
Overall, I really liked it.”
