Quinta Levada do Rei

I just want to comment that the young waiter is rude. I consumed at the premises and used the bathroom (if you don't consume you have to pay 50cent). The waiter didn't remember my face and started yelling at me in the middle of the room and even after I showed him that I was a customer (I had a coffee and on top of that I brought it to the bar so he wouldn't have to go out to look for it) he didn't apologize until I demanded it. He told me that I had to ask permission to use the bathroom despite being a customer, which seemed like a joke and a lack of respect for my privacy. Obviously I will not return and I do not recommend anyone to go, it is the typical place where they charge you very expensive food just because of the location at the exit of the levada. A shame about the bad manners of the service.
EDITED AFTER THE LOCAL RESPONSE: THEY ARE LIARS!!! If they have checked the cameras as they say and it supposedly took me hours to get back... how is it possible that I returned the cup of coffee??? Did I take her for a walk to the levada? Hahahahaha I was sitting at the tables at the main entrance of the establishment until I finished my coffee (at most half an hour). It would have been better for their business to simply apologize for the bad behavior, but now it is clear to everyone that they are liars to their customers and rude. Furthermore, there are numerous complaints for this same reason, it is not possible for all clients to lie and even so we must avoid yelling at people whenever possible. We eat there after the levada. Service was very slow and I had to stand up to ask for the menu and cutlery that I didn’t have. The food was very basic, a burger that was very average.

Nice place to eat and drink a cocktail. Surrounded by poultry it gives a little farm idea.

Small, remote restaurant. Homemade cakes and smoothies are really tasty and freshly made. The poncha was rather medium, but above all not cold enough. Nevertheless, everything fits. I think you can definitely stop here. We didn't eat anything, but what we saw looked pretty good so far.

Great experience, excellent food and even better service. It is a family restaurant with a modern touch, without a doubt a recommended place for anyone who wants to do the Levada do Rei next.
One of the curiosities of the place are the free-roaming chickens that make you laugh from time to time and if you're lucky, you'll even see the chicks.
It is a clean place with a super pleasant and helpful reception from the staff. Definitely repeating.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was overwhelmed with the many guests today. We had to wait a very long time for our food. I think our order was simply forgotten. The quality of the food also left a lot to be desired. Frozen calamari is not what we expect in Madeira. The Espetada was stringy/stringy. There is one star for the nice service. The long wait was broken up by a few chickens running around. Unfortunately not recommended!!

At LEVADY DO REI, be sure to stop for a quick snack in an amazing restaurant on the way back. We really enjoyed their Madeira club, which was filled like a hamburger. (We had a slice of beef)
And above all, what makes this restaurant a restaurant... NICE AND PLEASANT SERVICE❤️ ?

Idéal pour grignoter un petit (ENORME) sandwich au boeuf accompagné de frites après un belle marche le long de la levada de rei. Cadre sympa, entourés de citronniers et de petits poussins. On recommande vivement !
