Well, we had tried the sister restaurant, which was fabulous, O Poente, and cheap a couple of evenings before, so thought we would have lunch here. A little out of town and very very busy, mainly with locals and workmen…..a good recommendation in itself you’d think. Arrived at 1230 and it was absolutely rammed, and it’s a big restaurant with the smaller room holding probably fifty tables with another, even bigger room to the rear. A bit of English spoken but menus all in Portuguese, but with Google translate we got by.The menu I’d divided into what are I presume several ‘dishes of the day’, starting at about €6.Great!!! Everyone loves a bargain. To every one we picked we got a ‘sorry all gone’, and it wasn’t even one o clock. So we moved down to the more expensive menu, starting at €10 I’d never tried cuttlefish before so opted for that one…..sold out Settled for the sea bass at €12 so now nt such a cheap meal and the wife, again after many failed choices had the ‘black pork’ at €12,50. Waited a good 20 minutes and was really disappointed when it did come.A tiny piece of fish opened up to make it look bigger and a boiled potato. Not happy. The black pork wasn’t much better, a lot of it but very gristly. Puddings weren’t much better, lots of tries, none available.Settled for two tubs of mousse. Went to the till and there, in the chiller cabinet were some of the desserts we were told weren’t available. So, beware!!! If using this place I believe the waitresses have been told to make the tourists order the expensive items that the locals wouldn’t pay for and to ‘get rid’ of the more unpopular desserts by saying the rest aren’t available. Finally, it turned out not to be a cheap meal. Would I go again??? Not a chance.
We stopped for lunch here on an overcast windy day. Service was really pleasant and lunch was enjoyed by all, including the fab milkshakes, smoothies and a cheeky pina colada for me! Worth a lunch stop if you are up visiting the rocks/lighthouse
Happened to be there on a night of special Ukranian party with live music and dancing. Food ok and very inexpensive but not great but we all had a great time
Cannot recommend this place , our experience was very poor. Rowdy, food overcooked service although friendly was very slow.
Good stop along the trail, nice lighthouse to look at. Small bites, nothing fancy but friendly staff, good ice cream and smoothies and cold beer. Good for what it is.
Very nice handmade Fries, good prices and near the caves. Ignore the negativity in other comments, much is due to your own mindset.
Terrible service, no where else to go at the top of the caves so need to be nice I guess. Average food nothing to write home about
Welcoming staff and good views. Only cafe at Ponta da Piedade. You can have good meals there but we only had a couple of coffees which were not bad and reasonably priced given its location.
I have been living in Albufeira for 6 winters and visiting in Sol Nascente tens of times. Usually I'm eating sea bass which is excellent and very reasonable priced (5 euros). The service has always been very friendly and quite fast. I can warmly recommend Sol Nascente.
This is not a gastronomic rave but if you want a cheap bite at lunchtime it fits the bill. Service is charming, the food we had was well prepared. Wine at 10 euros a bottle is a plus!

Rude staff, terrible service, bad atmosphere We come in for lunch when a rude waiter approach us with a aggressive voice, and shouting at us to change table. It was so uncomfortable we were forced to leave the place.
Just came for ice cream and a drink. The staff were arguing amongst themselves, and they were very rude to one of the customers in front of me, who had been given the wrong bill and waited 30 minutes to pay. Even ordering 2 ice creams was difficult, and the man who serves me seemed angry at everything.
We came to eat diner in family and to watch the game of soccer. We have arrived at 8pm and were served at 9:45pm. The soccer game was almoast finished and we didn’t have our meal. AND THE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY When we were served the chicken was swiming in frying oil. I will never come back here or recomand their food
Rude staff, was expecting better in all honesty. Such a shame given the nice surroundings in a lovely place. hard selling poor refreshments, unclean. Sad. Very disappointing. ?
