“Recomendo a viola vivamente, sou Madeirense e vivo a alguns anos no estrangeiro. Quando vou à Madeira sempre um visito o viola. É um locar muito frequentado e por vezes temos de esperar por uma mesa mas vale a pena.
A comida é saborosa.

“We got there by accident while driving to the nuns' valley. It is a place visited mainly by the local community with local decor and atmosphere (I personally love and appreciate such places). The food is very tasty, fries cut from fresh potatoes (the large portion of fries is huge), delicious meat, wonderful vegetables. Local service with very basic English but I highly recommend it.“

“Parking space is scarce... great view. Sitting outside under sun protection is great. Portions are large and so it is enough for two adults to order just one espetada.
Parking: Along the very narrow access road and for 10-15 cars at the restaurant“

“Very unexpected GREAT meat dinner ! They do a super job in 1. choosing the meat (it’s local, from Madeira, and you can feel it; 2. Cooking it with the grill.
We got the chicken: so tender, so tasty ! And the beef sirloin: also very soft..a great meat that you rarely find.
Also the rice was good because made at the moment and with care, and you can taste it :)“

“During our vacation we spent two evenings at Calheta Green. The restaurant is beautifully located - with a view of the sea and quiet, green surroundings. The food was very fresh and tasty. The grill is visible to all guests. The restaurant also offers a bar.
We were particularly impressed by the service of our waiter Igor. We could always trust his recommendations regarding food and drinks. His very friendly and, above all, attentive way of working stands out clearly from other locations on Madeira. After our first visit, his service persuaded us to spend our last evening in Madeira in this restaurant.
Vegetarian options: Fresh, tasty and unusual.
Recommended to other vegetarians.
Parking: Approximately 15 parking spaces available
Wheelchair accessibility: You can park directly in front of the entrance. Access to the restaurant (including the terrace) is level.“

“Small, remote restaurant. Homemade cakes and smoothies are really tasty and freshly made. The poncha was rather medium, but above all not cold enough. Nevertheless, everything fits. I think you can definitely stop here. We didn't eat anything, but what we saw looked pretty good so far.“

“We went there twice. The skewers are excellent, the toppings very good (small ? for the milho frito). The servers are very welcoming and smiling. We will surely return there a third time, but simply out of greed...? And also for the welcome ?“

“Excellent cuisine at a fair price. Fish and meat were of very good quality and the portions were very generous.
Simple furnishings but nice views. Unfortunately right next to the street.
Parking: Parking lot across the street. Sufficiently large for the conditions on Madeira.“
“We came in the evening, only locals in the pub, they said there was nothing to eat. We ordered a ponche - lemon, apparently the locals drink it, and we got free squids fried with onions, then broadsword heads, and finally tuna. A wonderful local culture experience!“

“One of the oldest restaurants in the region, but I had never stopped there for a meal.Although it was calm when we got there on a Saturday. dinner, quickly filled up.Our service was friendly and fast.We ordered chicken and kebab which was divine. The side dishes were good, but priced well above average.Serving of corn €9.50Serving of salad €9.50A skewer of meat €16One and a half chicken €21It was a good experience, but honestly we thought it was expensive for what was presented (only the kebab was actually very good)“

“Good food with friendly service. We loved our food and there was enough to choose. I have tried the soup of the day and beside that we both eat meat. As a starter we eat local cheese. When we are in the possibility we would love to go back to this restaurant again..“

“It is a small, clean and well-kept restaurant with a private parking lot, which can be reached directly across the street, through a somewhat narrow alley. This one-way street is otherwise very busy with parking, so this is a good facility. The service and the food were very good in our opinion. We will go there again. We had sauteed squid (around €16) and Bife de Atum (around €15) including side dishes. Since fresh fish is offered, not everything is always available. Very inexpensive and deliciously prepared for this quality. The chef is unique and strives to ensure guest satisfaction. The only thing that prevented card payment was the lack of an internet connection, so maybe you should work on that!
Parking: The restaurant is on the right side of a one-way street - on the left, opposite, is the restaurant's private parking lot. This can be reached through a narrow alley - watch out for the exterior mirrors! :-)“

“Dinner in a traditional Portuguese restaurant.
During our trip we tried many espaditas, but this one was definitely among the best, and the pork one in particular was my absolute favorite.
The pork espaditas was flavorful, tasty, soft and well roasted, really special.
Super recommended.
Attentive and friendly staff, ready to advise in case of indecision.“

“We ate the chopped and sword fillet and they were good and tasty. I never say this but the companions' doses are a bit excessive.
Poncha I honestly didn't think it was anything special.
In terms of service, it was probably the best I had during my stay in Madeira, very friendly and good-natured.
The wooden dance was a pleasant surprise, my family and I loved it and I even participated in it!“

“Good traditional place to eat. We tried the regional espetada with cooked potato and the bolo du caco, to share. Everything is very good.
The espetada comes with 6 good-sized pieces. And the serving of potatoes seen in the photo is the medium size. Strong quality/price portions.
Additionally, the restaurant has beautiful views.
Parking: There is space for 6-7 cars. We went during the week and parked without a problem.“
