Terrible, surreal service… I start suspecting their reviews…. Had a reservation for dinner on Saturday and then, after a change of plans, I made a reservation through the web for Sunday lunch instead. Someone contacted me (via WhatsApp!! I have the chat to share… surreal lecture a couple of screens long…) with several messages, lecturing me on having two reservations and that they decided that if I wanted to go there, I should try my luck… they were NOT going to keep my Sunday reservation. Clearly a pretentious, dramatically overpriced, place (with €30-40 euro simple rice dishes….)… I should have known… a place in the Douro river in Portugal with “wine and bistro” in its name… Traditional places closeby Adega Ramadinha, Dona Amelia or Ponte de Pedra, all much better choices for fantastic food, great service and traditional portuguese atmosphere…. Stay away from this place…

Had the pleasure to eat there yesterday. Had a set menu as part of the «Romantic package» from Dourwin - the hotel the restaurant is at.
The service was amazing and the staff spoke perfect english, were very helpful and interesting to talk to. Every dish was amazing, in particular the turbot and rice dish.
The surroundings were beautiful, and a perfect place to sit and eat during the sunset.

Difficult to put words into describing the experience at Sirga. We got so enchanted with the food, wine, service and location (by the Douro river) that we did not even remember to take pictures. They serve nearly all of the wines from their extensive and well-curated list by the glass. The in-house sommelier is very kind and knowledgeable and his recommendations allow for unforgettable pairing experiences. Talking about pairing, the food was also delicious and prepared with great quality ingredients. The ambiance is just perfect, a charming chalet right next to the river. I cannot recommend enough.

The space is intimate and cozy, the food was prepared with care and skill - we loved what we chose for dinner -, however, what enchanted us most was the affection, attention and knowledge of the people who accompanied us throughout the service.
