The restaurant is easy to find, being on a street corner opposite the Municipal Park in the centre of town. We decided to have an early dinner and were there just after the restaurant opened. Most tables had reserved signs on them. We were lucky in that we got a table without having had made a reservation. We soon understood why. Starters of mussels and vegetable soup were both delicious. My partner had an excellent lemon sole (Linguado) and I had octopus (Polvo a Largareiro)...
Excellent food, good a professional service despite the place was full! Keep in mind, make a reservation. If you like octopus you’re at the right place fabulous. Excellent price quality relationship!!
For many years we have visited Dos Combatentes but this year was our first visit for several years but once again we were not disappointed. We had not booked which is a bad idea. You end up being squeezed in to a table at the door which can be challenging. The restaurant is exceptionally popular with visitors from all over the world and understandably so.
