This is an excellent restaurant ! You could feel the passion in every dish. We were six last night and each of us enjoyed every moment in this restaurant. The atmosphere is very charming and cozy. It is worth seeking out this restaurant because from the road it does not stand out. Once through the front door you can see all the TripAdvisor awards which are fully justified. The food & service was excellent, a bit pricier but well worth it. Can recommend the steak and the fish dishes.

We have just eaten at Babette and the meal was delicious. We both had veal and it was excellent, well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff were helpful and friendly. You couldn’t fault anything, thank you for a lovely evening, much neede after a hard days walking

Discovered Babette as we strolled around the charming town of Barcelos. It was already 2:30 pm. I was glad that they had one of my favourites, stewed bochechas. But their take is different from what I had in other restaurants. The Babette version had chestnuts and stewed veggies. Ah, so good it was. The texture of the chestnuts, veggies and meat was right. Perfect meal.

The first place we visited after landing in Porto, on our way to our hotel. It was the perfect start of a lovely week in Northern Portugal. The food was fresh and tasty, classic dishes served in a modern way, just as we like it. The vino verde had the perfect temperature. The ladies in the kitchen were very friendly, as was the gentleman taking care of us. Barcelos is also a cosey little town and so was this restaurant. Not too busy and touristic. The very reason we prefer these areas over more touristic places.

The food was really good and the cost / quality excellent. the codfish was on point - not to dry or undercooked. We visited during the pandemic and we felt really safe. The atmosphere was nice and the service likewise. Hope to come again soon.
