After visiting the government office down the street to take care of some documents, I stopped in here for a snack. Ordered a soup and a beer and found the soup as with everything I typically eat, in need of something spicy. I was brought some hot sauce from where the owner was sitting and this magic concoction was the most spiciest and tastiest I’ve had! Digging deeper to where it came from, I was told the owner makes it himself. My next comment was, can I buy some to take home and got a big NO from the owner sitting for a meal himself at the next table. Oh well, I tried.On my way out to pay, I was gifted with some to take home and was refused to pay of it.This is Portugal, this is true hospitality and kindness and will make a point to stop here every time I’m in the neighborhood to support such amazing restaurants and people with such care.

Snack Bar Amoreiras provided me with a delightful culinary experience during my stop in this part of Setúbal, where I needed to handle some car documents. The staff was incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food here is not only tasty but also follows traditional local recipes.One feature that stood out to me was the option of ordering half plate or full plate servings, referred to as half dose or full dose. For my family, we indulged in the fried cuttlefish, which typically comes with potato chips or fries, salad, and lemon wedges for squeezing over the choco frito. This delicious meal cost 14 euros. Additionally, we enjoyed the shrimp curry for 12 euros and a chicken dish also priced at 12 euros.One thing to note is that when people smoke outside, the smoke tends to drift inside the restaurant. Since the restaurant is relatively small, this can be a bit of a downside for non-smokers. It would greatly improve the dining experience if they could consider closing the door to prevent the smoke from entering.
