We stumbled on this place after being refused entry to another as they were too busy - this restaurant was quiet so we were not sure but how wrong were we? Husband had the meat platter on a hot stone and I had the fish on the hot stone Amazing food will definitely call again if get chance

I had great expectations about this restaurant but i was disappointed. Philippa, the waitress, was very kind and this was the best thing in our dinner. We ordered a cheese, not bad, an entrée with a pork meat a little dry. Then we had a portuguese steak, served with a lot of cooking liquid and not so tasty, and a picanha that we had to cook on the stone. Even if i cooked it rare, the meat was very tough, difficult to eat an one slice seemed in not so good conditions. With a bottle of wine and of water we paid 68€ which could be a reasonable price if the dinner was better.

Pitstop here whilst on an Arade River boat tour. Had a delicious Piri chicken for 2 and a great house sweet. Friendly and helpful staff, great little find.

Tijdens onze vakantie in Silves zijn we (4 personen) alle dagen uit eten geweest. Elke avond bij een ander restaurant, althans, dat was de bedoeling. Op de vierde avond kwamen we bij Taberna Portuguesa terecht en dit vonden allemaal de beste tot dat moment. Daarna hebben we nog enkele restaurants bezocht, maar we zijn uiteindelijk 3 maal bij T.B. neergestreken. Alle gerechten waren top en de bediening erg prettig. De sangria is er overigens ook goed. Kortom: een echte aanrader.

After eating fish along the Algarve coast for the past 2 weeks we fancied a change and noticed ". Portuguese style steak" on the menu board here. Genuine friendly welcome from the staff who served us politely and professionally. The steak came with smoked ham on top in a lovely sauce with thinly sliced fried potatoes. Did not regret our choice it was well cooked and tasted heavenly.

We enjoyed our evening here. We had not been for awhile.Food was tasty and hot.Service very good, charming young people plenty of staff.Only complaint, (a small one) , no decent Rosé wine.Recommend
