Absolutely shocking experience. Ordered four drinks (two cold and two basic coffees) and one tuna toastie. Took over fourth minutes for the drinks to arrive (even though it wasn’t busy) and then my drink was finished well before my toastie arrived. Considering the toastie consisted of two pieces of toast, a few lettuce leaves and a some dry tuna, there was no technical chef requirements and no apparent explanation for the delay or apology. Clearly a poor choice of cafe and definitely one I wouldn’t recommend or revisit.
Pastries excellent; service not. We two had just landed in Porto, and stopped in for pastries to takeout. Pastries: 4.0. Pasteis de nata Service: 2.0. Unsmiling and inconsiderate. The two ladies working the counter and the register had a conversation as we waited to pay. So we figured out how to pay on our own.
Brilliant bakery! Absolutely delicious cakes and pastries. Went back twice as worth the walk! Very reasonable price to have coffee or orange juice and cakes sitting outside. Short distance from Livrario Lello and a lovely and quiet spot .
As is the formula for TripAdvisor reviews - “We were wandering around ___________, and came upon ____________.” But in this case that was exactly how our group came upon the Padaria Ribeiro. We wanted mid-morning coffee and pastry and were about to settle on a nice enough spot, when we walked another 20 meters and found this pastry shop. We selected a range of pastries to share and sat down outside to enjoy our haul. The pastries and savories included tarte de amendable, miniature docks nara chila, a nara, fatima de tarta sal, and a pastel de chafers. Shoulda taken a slew of pictures but we gobbled up our goodies too quickly. The coffee american was also superb. Our waiters were pleasant and quickly served us.
I was working my way up to trying as many Pasteis de nata as I can in Portugal. Padaria Riberio was probably the first decent one that I had. A bit more so on the eggy side. In a scale of 10 I would have scored it 7.5/10.
Visited here after being recommended from a local tour guide. As with most of Porto, service very slow and the waitress was quite abrupt. Food however was delicious, nice sandwiches and got patisserie to take away. Would recommend a visit.

I can't say the natas were the best at Padaria Ribeiro. They were decent, but I fell in love with the fish croquettes. Those were certainly noteworthy and delicious.
