Anyone traveling on the Levada nova - this is the ideal rest area. Small authentic bar with friendly service, a great espresso (!!), delicious cake and freshly squeezed orange juice at prices that scream for a hefty tip??.

The coffee is very good, the service is nice, the place is nothing special, there are a few tables and chairs outside, but there is no particular view because it is on the street. Getting to the place is very poorly marked, up a large hill from the end of the trail. However, it is worth being afraid of coffee or beer etc. before returning to Lavada Night

It's initially a steep climb, from the sign on the Levada, through the small town to the bar. We drank the best cappucino in Madeira there, along with delicious home-made cake.I had left a tip when the owner came and gave us two more bananas.Absolutely recommended location.

Yesterday we hiked along the Levada Nova from Candelaria to Corujeira! Very nice tour, due to the construction site in Ribeira Brava in the opposite direction. We stopped here on the way back. There was stew and it was delicious!!! Beans, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, plus Mettwurst, black pudding and meat. Plus rice.
