They have the grill in the front window of the facade (something curious) and from your table you can see how your pork cutlets are cooked on the embers without stopping salivating ?
We also tried the cod and a salad more complete than a beachfront in August.
With 4 beers, 1 water and 4 Beiraos we paid 25 eur per drink.
Good option in Tavira.

Enjoyed our late meal here. Chicken cooked on the grill for you on request. Not the quickest, but cooked perfectly and well worth the wait when it comes! No frills but not pricey because of that. We were lucky that there wasn't many in when we turned up as other times we'd passed by it was always full.

I have wanted to try this proper local Portuguese restaurant for a long time and finally I took 2 friends there on 13-Mar-2024. We all had the BBQ chicken, fries and mixed side salad and everything was fantastic. Simple, well-cooked local food and excellent service. We also had the house red wine which was good and everything was excellent value. I absolutely love Emigrante and highly recommend it for a true local restaurant experience. Thank you Emigrante!

This is one of my Happy places. I have been in Tavira for 2 weeks, but it's been closed for (well deserved) holidays. Imagine my pleasure when, coming down the hill towards Bishops Square, I see ... yes! ... red tables outside Cantinho do Emigrante ... Open at last. I settled in, salivating for Frango grilled to perfection. Yes, it takes a while...As good grilling should. But get a half litre of wine and settle in...it's worth the wait. It was a lovely lunch. I'll be back...
