We were looking for a place to eat fish, without knowing any in Tavira and we were very happy with our choice. We arrived around 1:45 pm but we were still attended to (I found out that they are closed at night). We chose to stay on the terrace and there were no complaints of flies. Very peaceful. I confess that at the beginning, perhaps because we got close to closing time, there seemed less friendliness. Nothing more wrong. The entire team that served us was very friendly to us. Especially Daru who welcomed us. We had no more than 20' to receive the food (7x sardines, 3x bream which was a dose, and 1x sea bream). It was delicious. Certainly a place to return and highly recommend.

Red mullets with scale and buchada. Fish like that is not served to anyone, much less a restaurant that claims to specialize in roasted fish. Not recommended. But there is no menu or price anywhere. You only know when you pay when you go to the till. 12 Euros for 4 horse mackerel, two of them gutted and dried and 16 Euros for 3 red mullets as already mentioned.

He was a client of the previous owner and it always went well. I came today for the first time to try with the current owner but I had no chance. At 2:40 pm, at the height of summer, beach area, vacation…. The man at the grill was arranging the fish and no longer served it to me because “it was too much work to grill half a dozen sardines” on the still live coals. I told him I could eat any fish and quickly. But he still turned his back and walked away without saying another word. There are people who don't deserve to have open businesses, because their way of dealing with customers is zero. Obviously, with this management I will not try again, nor will I recommend it. With this attitude and inability to “build a house” I will probably try with another owner next year.

Just a year ago, it was a good address. Now it has become a tourist trap. Vastly increased prices and incompetent staff with a tendency to overcharge. An example: my daughter who likes red mullet (salmonete) orders two, but we serve her four under the pretext that the portion according to the menu contains two fish.

The super fresh fish were fabulous, we ordered a very well grilled sea bream, a parracho also very fresh, the 1/2L bottle of house wine. The service and quality are very good and the price is quite adjusted to what we ask for. Without a doubt we will repeat.

BEFORE ORDERING, ASK FOR THE PRICEYesterday (Wednesday, February 14, 2024) we were having lunch, two of us, in this typical “peixe grelhado” restaurant. The premises and the service are adequate. The lady suggested the “robalo” (sea bass) for two. It was very tasty and well roasted, but when it came time to pay we were surprised: On the menu, the Robalo dish is 14 euros, so we understood that for two people it would be 28, but they charged us 52 euros. We have asked if it was a mistake, and they tell us no, that is their price, because “it was for two and it is from the sea”…If you go to this restaurant, before ordering ask the price, because it is not always what is indicated on the menu.In relation to your response, I clarify that you have confused us with another client. At no time did we order salmon, nor did we go to the display case. We ordered what the lady who served us at the table suggested: the "robalo" for two. This lady did not inform us of the price.
