This was by far our best restaurant in the north of Portugal. With the choice of 4 fixed course choices or a la carte everyone can be satisfied. Small restaurant (4 tables) guaranteed personal attention. We felt as though we had a personal chef at Antonio’s house!! Perfected menu paired perfectly with wine and port. We have eaten at many world renowned restaurants and Casa do Arco can hold its own. My fear is that Michelin will here of this place and a booking will be impossible. Hands down the best restaurant in Pinhao. Don’t hesitate - treat yourself!!
We had a wine tour guide for the day in Pinhau. After our first wine tasting is was time for lunch. On the side of the mountain was the beautiful restaurant with just 4 tables overlooking the valley. The details to service were fantastic. The food and wine pairings were great. Thank you Marco and Paul for such a wonderful afternoon ?
Although we were not able to book to stay here we decided to go for lunch. We received a warm welcome and excellent care from Ana and Marco the owners of Casa de Arco. The property is perched on the side of the slope overlooking Pinhão. The views are breathtaking! Great care and thought have gone into the planning and decor of this property. We enjoyed a delicious meal accompanied by excellent wine. If you are fortunate to be able to book one of their 3 rooms this will complete your experience.
Our family of six just came back from a celebration dinner at Casa do Arco and we were all very impressed with style and service of this outstanding little restaurant in the heart of the Douro Valley. My parents enjoyed the beef and said it was among the best steaks they ever had in their life. My dad, who doesn't cry at funerals said he wanted to cry when he first tasted the steak and my mom, who doesn't even like red meat, was fighting over the last slice. The pescaterians and vegetarians among us were able to enjoy a well prepared cod and truffle tagliatelle, but the stars of the menu are the meat. If I could offer a couple of humble suggestions, we found the four menu combinations to be more confusing than necessary and a simpler prix fixe with a choice of starter, main, and dessert would be better, as vegetarians and pescaterians had to go a la carte which was price and felt a little unfair under the circumstances. Also, I think the restaurant should offer a wine pairing option rather than just bottles and by the glass options. Marco is a charming and attentive owner and was very passionate and knowledgeable about the menu and each component of what was a beautiful dinner.
What an amazing, fabulous find this restaurant is - truly a passion project for the owners. Casa do Arco was the highlight of all the restaurants we dined at during our week in the Douro. We will definitely be back.
Our experience at this restaurant was truly amazing. The service was outstanding and the food fantastic! We had diner there twice and could taste the matured beef as well as the cod and octopus. Each dish was delicious. The wine list allowed us to try local wine and the pairing advised by Marco was spot on! Thank you to Marco, Antonio and the rest of the team! We will surely recommend this restaurant and come back!
We had a very delicious and great meal during our stay at Casa do Arco. The staff was great, with good knowledge about the local wine, and the food was very good, we had the 60 days-matured veal meat , and it was cooked to perfection. The small amount of tables and cosy room gives a very unique and intimate experience, matched only by the breath taking view!
Gourmet meal beautifully served with selected paired wines in a spectacular modern building. There are four tables in the dining area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Douro Valley. Thank you to Marco and his friendly and professional staff for a wonderful experience. This was part of a great private day tour of the Douro by Douro Exclusive. The Casa Do Arco also has three rooms / suites and next time we will visit and stay.

This was the best meal of our whole trip to Spain and Portugal. Beautiful location. Lovely, attentive service. Delicious food. Wonderful wine. I will dream about the sous vide octopus and truffle burrata for a very long time. Hope to go back and actually stay there some day.
I was staying in the hotel and booked in for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to see Marco serving alongside with his attentive team. There was only another table booked in but we all ended up talking which relaxed the atmosphere. I went for the set menu of Cod and I tried dishes I'd never had before including traditional Portuguese sausage (mix of rabbit chicken and pork) which was with an egg...very luxurious and well executed. The cod was cooked great! Also got a surprise of popcorn and white port at the start which was a nice touch. I thought it was great value for money and felt like a treat! A couple of considerations though personally I felt it was a bit too formal - gloves when taking out cutlery - I think it could be relaxed slightly (I did love that they wore matching new balance trainers) I also thought I would get more creativity for the desert, it was a surprise and it ended up being ice cream. Given the rest of the menu I was hoping for something a bit different. However these are small things.
Dinner at Casa do Arco was impeccable! Marco and his team do a phenomenal job. With only 4 tables, the intimate service makes you feel like royalty. The food is outstanding. Each course was better than the next. I hope to be back one day.
This was truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Marco and Antonio provided amazing service. We had one of the menus crafted by the chef. It was delicious. Wine was delicious. Views were spectacular. I have nothing critical at all. I will always remember this meal.
Second visit, and this time we decided to stay the night as well. Our room was The Lemon tree with stunning views. Warmly welcomed by Antonio. Dinner was fabulous. We had the sharing menu which was delicious. Wine served in a beautiful mamba decanta and only the best wine glasses Zalto. Thank you Marco and Antonio for a truly memorable evening.
